CONTINUITY ERRORS: The Official Thread (Warning: Major Spoilers)

6. Bobby iceslided from NY to San Francisco to look for Rogue and iceslided back to New York in time to join X men. why couldn't he called them on a cellphone and waited there.

Um, what version did you watch? Cause I definitely did not see that one at the two screenings I viewed?

Some of those last ones aren't continuity errors... :p

The very last one (#11) would count, since it's technically inconsistent with the "look" of the movie...And for that matter, anything such as a "here now, gone in a flash", "set person in the background", "suddenly day to night" or any inconsistency from one shot to the next would be considered a continuity error.

Was Angel wearing a suit in the final battle? I mean like a formal, evening suit and jacket??? Where was he?

Jumping out of glass windows without hurting himself.

It's his new thing. He's like the more daredevil version of David Blaire. :p

Quick question.

Everyone on the bridge left their cars and ran from The Brotherhood. This is during the day.

So...who turned on EVERY SINGLE CARS' headlights once it turned night?

Regarding Magneto's battle plan (why didn't he drop the bridge on the facility and call it a day?)...
Maybe he wanted to make a statement. I mean, if he just does that it's poof, he hasn't proven anything; just that he's, you know, powerful. But if he shows off his army and makes a big production out of the whole thing, it does two things:
- Proves to humans that he means business
- Shows his powers and skills to other mutants still in hiding, perhaps to convince them to join him.

All the other observations are pretty solid, especially Bobby's ice skates and the bee in Logan's jacket.

I also want to know how Jean could LEVITATE AN ENTIRE HOUSE in a CROWDED NEIGHBORHOOD and have anyone not notice.

The x-men were against the use of the cure as a weapon But then they went fighting to help the soldiers that were shooting the cure.
Not sure if that's a continuty thing or just bad writing.

Yeah, this movie is riddled with inconsitencies that go beyond suspension of disbelief and just into plain laziness.

Get up with the times.. doesn't your car's headlights turn on when it goes dark automatically? Mine does.. and the window wipers when it rains too

Not to personally attack any of you but I think a few of the things that have been brought up are taking the step from "this was annoying" to "I am a sad freak with too much time on my hands" and you need to just suspend your belief and enjoy the movie. Yes, I will say I did notice the day/night sudden change in the bridge scene and thought that was a bit too noticeable to not shake your head but winging about things like Rogue's hair changing is just going too far.. people's hair moves between scenes and cuts, that can't be helped - and you can't say "a good director should be on top of that" because with the amount of scenes and cuts, I would have to say don't judge until you have done it yourself. Anyway if you can believe in X-Men I am sure you can suspend your belief for things such as "Mystique" turning into a young girl.. jeez.

They were fighting to save leech.

Just because you don't see something tediously shown on screen doesn't make it a plot hole. It's called good story telling. If people would've seen Warren using some of his wealth to rent a private plane would they have been happier? How about shots of him eating a meal in flight? You mean Angel never eats food? Wouldn't he die without nourishment? Isn't that also a huge plot hole?

How can people seriously question how Magneto got away at the end? People are literally disintegrating left and right and someone actually expects law enforcement to pause and arrest someone? I would've been running for the bay as fast as I could with a huge load forming in my pants.

I honestly haven't read one valid criticism here yet.

i agree that a lot of what people are saying is just silly nitpicking but that movie had more plot holes than ive ever seen in my life.

bring me the head of brett ratner.

Those extensions really bothered me too, considering she has a feathered look in X2, similar to Storm's haircut now. What Phoenix had - had to be at least two years worth of growth.

Have you ever grown your hair long? I have had my hair down to my butt, and it certainly didn't take me two years to do it. Currently, I've gone from close-cut (not buzzed, but short) to shoulder-length in about 2 months.

Two years? No. Maybe a year, for some people, but it varies from person to person.

It also helps to be able to MAKE A HUGE EVOLUTIONARY LEAP, like Phoenix did.

So let me get this straight:

1. Jean Grey holding back a flood? Totally believable.
2. Jean Grey taking over Prof. X's brain to say "good bye"? Totally believable.
3. Jean Grey not being killed by a massive, crushing wave? Totally believable.
4. Jean Grey evolving into the most powerful being on Earth? Totally believable.
5. Jean Grey being able to incinerate people with a stray thought? Totally believable.

6. Jean Grey growing 8" of hair? OMG!!! IMPOSSIBLE!!!

I bet you're the guys who are looking for the wires in Superman, too.

i read through the first like 6 pages and i could not believe this one wasnt pointed out
JUGGERNAUT was a freaking mess, ok so he isnt strong unless he has momentum in the movie verse, so he can be locked in that metal box that magneto frees him from. but he easily smashes out of the floor when kitty gets him stuck in it. im pretty sure he had no momentum there

2) In the forest Magneto is saying he wished Charles didn't die, but we all saw Mags left him to die back in
x-2.

Magneto an be kinda ambiguous, and obviously the only way for him to acheive his goal in X2 would have been to sacrifice charles. He still seemed sad about it, but most likely figured it was necessary.

The X-men are also against the opression of mutants, and by showing that not all mutants are evil, they socred huge brownie points with the world.

The absense of this scene could explain the sudden day to night change.

umm im not sure but i didnt know juggernaut was a mutant i thought he got his powers from some stone or crystal anyways so how did leech affect him?

No way. Remember in X1 she said, "I can't control it like that, you could fly right over the torch"

noted. but that was said by the ultra-reduced singer version of storm. i guess that's why she couldn't fly at that point either, because she 'couldn't control it like that'. in the last stand, she has massive control of her powers. she can control the wind enough to levitate herself, and not just fly, but hover in one place. with that level of control, i think she could fly her team to safety. we've seen her do it in the animated series (though, she used a 'twister' to do it). whatever the case, since nothing is official, that's what i'll go with.....to make me feel better :) .

Seriously, they decided they were going to make Juggernaut a mutant in the movie so they didn't have to explain the crystal thing.

And so his scene with Leach would work. Doesn't he only affect mutants?

Here's a little one.

If Magneto can "sense" metal. How come he acted so surprise at the end when he finally figured out that the soldiers' guns were plastic?

Shouldn't he have known that they weren't metal?

You mean when he said about Logan's adamantium? Maybe he was speaking figuratively.

one could argue there was sufficient momentum from his freed upper half to break though the floor.

that's all i've got for that one...
