Not great for that judge either. This is why people distrust law enforcement and the justice system. They cover up for their own.

:argh:
I said it before, I'll say it again
Cops need to pass through the same kind of quality measurements as Doctors do, both morally and in skills, the former comes first

Cops . . . .What about the judge? How can she just sit there and actively avoid the situation. She should be disbarred.

That video is disturbing to watch. This is why I distrust law enforcement. There is a lot of corruption in the justice system regardless of the reputation of the area you live in.

A lot of people assume that those who distrust cops are often people who fall into one or more of those categories and are just ******** because, for example, the cops took their weed. For the record, I am a law abiding citizen. I never did weed, took any drugs, or committed any crimes. I also live in Toronto which is more clean than most cities in North America. However, I've distrusted police officers for as long as I can remember. The thing is that even if you're fully clean and have nothing to hide, a lot of them will still always find something and some BS excuse to arrest you.

That's not to say that there aren't a lot of good police officers out there. I have friends currently in the police academy. At the same time, there are more than just "a few bad apples" in the justice system.

Since we are on a superhero forum, I think it would be fitting to relate this to comics a bit. I think part of the appeal of Batman is Gotham City. Gotham City is the epitome of crime and corruption. What I always liked about Batman (and I think this is true for a lot of people as well, even if they don't realize it) is the fact that there is a larger-than-life force out there that strikes fear into the criminals and the corrupt. At the same time, this force is unique from the other forces that strike fear like the Punisher because he is incorruptible and never resorts to murder. The vast majority of other superheroes don't have that balance. They're either too lighthearted to strike fear into the criminals and the corrupt or have to resort to murder in order to strike fear into them. Batman has that balance and that is part of what makes him so interesting IMO.

Wow. The judge literally turned a blind eye.

The scumbag Marshal tries everything in his power to save his own sorry ass.

I read that devil woman's name is Patricia Doninger and she may have been fired. If not , she damn well should be.

The Marshall has been fired and is suing the County while maintaining his innocence. The Judge has been let go as well.

I hear you completely. That's pretty much how I am.

I have friends that hate police because they "gave me a DUI when I was just driving home drunk." or "Arrested me because they found the weed in my glove compartment. Stupid pigs!" :whatever:

I on the other don't do any of that stuff. I have a clean record. Well, I did get a parking ticket 6 years ago.

The police are suppose to "protect and serve", right? It used to say that on their cars anyway.

Last year my car broke down on the side of the road. I was checking what was wrong and about to call my insurance company to get it towed. Turns out a piece of metal in the middle of the road hooked onto my undercarriage. A cop car approached. First thing I thought was, "Oh. Great. He can help me out."

Instead he proclaimed that I was drunk (I don't drink). And wrote me a ticket saying I ran over a state sign (clearly didn't). He then insisted that I needed to get my car off the side of the road "right now" and said my insurance towing would take too long and forced me to call a local towing company in which I had to pay out of my pocket.

I later found out police profit from a percentage of the cost of a local tow.

Everything was worked out and set straight of course...by me with a lot of time, complaining, and phone calls.

But I feel like some police are just real life trolls. Protecting and serving has taken a back to seat to profiting and corrupting.

This video makes me very angry. It shows corruption on every level. Where do you go when you're surrounded by a corrupt justice system? You just have to take it and be patient. And that sucks.

Where'd you see that about the judge Erz?

I know the video said she was being investigated and the that the cop was let go and suing the city.

I've never been in such situation (and I hope that I never have to) but I'm sorry to hear of what happened.

Since this is a comic book forum, I hope you don't mind that I insert a pop culture reference to bring some levity to balance out with the anger people felt from this video. Back when the first Transformers film came out, I remember there being a lot of people criticizing the "robots in disguise" aspect due to there being a Decepticon disguised as a police car with the "To punish and enslave" slogan on it as opposed to "To protect and serve". News such as this really make that criticism of the film look a lot less valid. :whatever:

I got really angry over this video too. I think the anger comes from the fact that no one can do anything to prevent things like this. On top of the fact that most of us are not in power, it wouldn't make too much of a difference even if that wasn't a factor. Corruption such as this is too spread out in the system for one person to handle alone. The proverbial "One person can make a difference" is unfortunately not always true.

That was disgusting...

Stallone: Code 3613... First Degree Useless ass Judge. Penalty. Death... but debarment will do.

This situation is wrong in every way, but I don't understand why these websites have to exaggerate to the extreme.
Doninger heartlessly ignored the young mother’s plea for help while two Clark County Court Marshalls tortured, groped and viciously attacked the Hispanic woman that was in court for a routine divorce case.

The cop and the judge should rightfully be fired, but trying to make it sound violent is completely unnecessary.

I like when cops make up laws "Bringing false accusations against a police officer." and the other idiot goes along with it. Brilliant.

This. In the court room the judge is the authority figure. She knew dam well that that supposed law doesn't exist , yet did nothing.

And what makes things worst is that the fired officer is claiming that he was justified in doing what he was doing, simply because nobody (the judge or the other cop) protested the law...:whatever:

That video absolutely made my blood boil. I wonder how many other innocent people have been victimized by these *******s. Losing their jobs isn't enough; they should be looking at jailtime.

Thats been my experience with police as well, more often than not, the officer you are talking to, isnt that upstanding. I know a few police offers but, I have a friend who iv known my entire life and he's now a police officer in our old home town. He says most people he works with actively look for ways to ticket and arrest people because tickets bring in revenue and arrests look good for the department and most times, even with violent offenders, they will offer them parole or a like deal if they plead guilty. So they get off with a slap on the wrist even though they were arrested for a violent offense, this again is done to please the higher ups at the station and helps in receiving state funding.

So the idea of "corruption" within the police flows from the top and there is absolute truth to the idea of power corrupting. He's talked about guys who while in the academy, were fairly meek or soft spoken, but as soon as they got that badge they turned into robocop from a mental standpoint.

Distrusting police and the government is as natural as it comes because they are constantly, giving you reasons to do so.
