Savage said:You weren't telling me how wrong I was. Your earlier post (which you quoted) wasn't even directed at me. My post came after reading your's and I still don't see how I'm wrong. Move on...Are you trying to start a catch phrase?
No. It really didn't. It really did not justify it at all. A fewquestions. Do you think the cops knew they would kill anyone when they fired 50 rounds into their van? Could the situation have been avoided by the police officers? Could the situation have ended with 0 casualties?jks said:You stated:
"The men were in a car. The cops couldn't have asked them to get out of the car or something? They had to execute them (and that's what it was. When you pull out your gun and empty two clips into a car, no warning shot or anything, you know that you are killing these people)? There is no justifying this. Period."
My post justified it before you even posted "There is no justifying this. Period" thus proving what you said wrong.
If you don't see how what I posted justifies it, that speaks very little for you. Move on.
Oh, but it did...Savage said:No. It really didn't. It really did not justify it at all.
I think they saw someone using an automobile as a weapon and responded appropriately to defend themselves.A fewquestions. Do you think the cops knew they would kill anyone when they fired 50 rounds into their van?
Did the officers make this guy attack them?Could the situation have been avoided by the police officers?
Yes, they guy driving the car could have not repeatedly try to ram the officers.Could the situation have ended with 0 casualties?
If that was what was needed to stop the guy from attacking the officers with an automobile, so be it. No one here was there and doesn't know. The only problem I have is that with 50+ shots fired, only around half hit the automobile. These officers need to qualify way more often than they do currently.Master Chief said:15 shots.
Reload.
15 shots.
No gunfire returned.
Right.![]()
Why would they be hated? They did what they had to do. 1. Firing warning shots is strictly prohibited. 2. Shooting the hood or tires wouldn't stop the car.Savage said:Master Chief pretty much said it. Look up overkill. Fire a warning shot. Shoot the hood. Shoot the tire. Show them that you're armed. Don't kill them two times over. I'm suprised there was only one death actually. I hope they're the most hated guys at their precinct.
Ah, jeez. They did not attack the officers but even if it was intentional then it is still overkill. It's a van for christ's sake. I just don't see how firing 50 rounds is okay. I don't even see how half a clip is okay.jks said:If that was what was needed to stop the guy from attacking the officers with an automobile, so be it. No one here was there and doesn't know. The car stopped. You say it like it was coming at them. It hit the car, drove back, rammed into it again. There obviously was not room to escape. Pull out your gun, "come out with your hands up!", on the ground, handcuffs, rights are read, the end.jks said:Why would they be hated? They did what they had to do. 1. Obviously this guy wasn't thinking twice about trying to injure or even kill the officers and they retaliated appropriately.

Ok then, please tell us what you saw.but even if it was intentional then it is still overkill.
And? No one has ever been hurt or killed from a collision in a van? Lets not forget the officer that was struck by the car or almost struck [I've read conflicting accounts]It's a van for christ's sake.
Well that's because you're completely uneducated on this field and have no experience and are basing what you are saying solely on a fit of rage.I just don't see how firing 50 rounds is okay. I don't even see how half a clip is okay.

The car stopped because the officers acted on the driver who had repeatedly attacked them.Savage said:The car stopped. You say it like it was coming at them. Remember, there were around 5 officers there who fired. Each one looking out for the safety of the others. You honestly expect them to plan before hand for one to shoot if necessary while the rest don't? 50 shots among 5 or so officers isn't that many, especially if one fired 30. [which is my only problem with this unless it happens to turn out those 30 were needed]Master Chief said:Maybe a few shots fired at the windshield around the driver's area I could see, the tires taken out too.
The officers were in the van.But riddling the van with lead is just crazy.
When under attack, you don't have time to show badges.I wonder if they showed badges or anything, lol. Their paranoia got the better of them.
Yeah, it's ****ed up that this guy wanted to attack the officers.Oh well. Crazy s**t happens all the time, it's depressing but it's the world, I wonder when the next f**ked up thing is going to happen.
Another good possibility. When guys in civillian gear start firing at me, I don't know about you, but I get pretty scared. Hell, I'd be scared if anybody started firing at me.deep_thinkin said:I'm guessing the guys would be pretty scared if they got shot once. They may have hit the police car on accident, and once the first shot was fired, the driver may have gone into panic. I know several people would do the same. I don't know many people that AREN'T scared of a being shot at. You said they weren't in uniform, so the driver may not have known that these guys were cops and that they were trying to rob them etc. Their van may have had complications when the first gun shot, and on accident it rammed into the other cars.
There are a million possiblities. Must we have a court session?
The car stopped because the officers stopped it. Did you not read where the car RAMMED the van more than once?Savage said:The car stopped because it crashed.
Because maybe he was still a threat? It's been established that way too many shots missed and perhaps this guy had to shoot that many times to hit the driver. [which is really pathetic on the officers part]...And nevermind that even. How the hell do you justify "Whup. I'm out. Think he's dead yet?" "I dunno...Give him another 15 for good measure."
Then common sense would be to drive away, not continue ramming them.Savage said:Another good possibility. When guys in civillian gear start firing at me, I don't know about you, but I get pretty scared. Hell, I'd be scared if anybody started firing at me.
