I need to see that at some point, just because of how horrible I've heard it is. Isn't it set in the future or something?

I remember watching various bad adaptations of Macbeth in this one class I had. There was this one really awful version that was made in Asia (I think it was Japan but I'm not sure). All I remember was this guy running around a building while 5 billion arrows were shot at him.

yeah it's one of those strange sci-fi movies where its so far into the future that the worlds collapsed and kinda of turned medieval again. So it's kinda like a period piece with futuristic weaponry.... it's just all kinds of bad.

Animal Farm

God...

The Neverending Story

It was in my Spanish class and it was in well, spanish, but I just didn't like it. That damn kid was so into that book. I mean how pathetic did he look when he was crying accompanied by all that cheesy acting?

Maybe I should watch the english version but damn...

In the Land of the Butterflies

Based on a book we read in spanish, was in english though, had nothing to do with the book. Salma Hayek was just there for the big name. Could of been handled so much better.

"Long live the butterflies", I hate that movie, saw it in Spanish class as well while we were on the subject of Trujillo's reign in the Dominican Republic.

West Side Story is another movie I hated.

If you're thinking of Throne of Blood, this whole thread is about to collapse in on itself.

The only good version of Romeo & Juliet was this old from the 60's I think. The girl that played Juliet was like 17 at the time. There was like a 2-second boob flash of her.

:cmad:

My big classroom complaint was that in a Sci-Fi lit/film class I took we got to watch Serenity. I love Serenity, but the prof decided that the scene of Summer kicking ass at the end was "not essential" and fast forwarded through it :cmad:.
That's the best part!

As for crappy movies in high school... Rudy. Multiple times.

Oh yeah I remember watching that movie. That girl was hot as heck.

I watched:

- Dangerous Minds
- Rudy
- Lean On Me

The only good movie I saw in school was The Shawshank Redemption.

Goodnight Mr Tom-We saw it at least 8 times within a month :/

The Field-Another film that we watched too many times.

The Last Castle.

We got to watch Gladiator though.

Are you guys going to a special-ed school or something? Almost all of the movies I've seen you guys posting about aren't educational films at all. I saw maybe 5 movies in school that were in theaters at one point and they were all for a reason. (Schindler's List, West Side Story, Romeo and Juliet, Ghandi, etc. You guys are naming movies that have no real value in watching at school. No wonder why people complain about the public school system today

My Government teacher was Cal Berkeley alumni and showed us "The Play" every other day. That's the opposite of crappy though.

70% of the movies i watched in school were for a reason. They all dealt with something we were studying... like we were reading beowulf when we watched it... it was just a god awful adaptation.

No, I get that, I'm talking about The Last Castle, Species, Tokyo Drift, Dangerous Minds, and a whole bunch of other movies I noticed in the last 5 pages

dude you were in high school for 12 years?!!?

lol meant school for 12 years... lol if that were true i woulda been a super genius and a ****** at the same time. lol (yay i'm so smart im in 9th grade instead of first, then spent 11 more years in 4 grades.. eek)

btw that does remind me.. .growing up i use to get so friggin jealous of those kids you'd see on the news who should have been in like 5th grade, yet were juniors in highschool cuz they had amazing brains or whatever.... what the hell happened to those kids? i never hear about that kinda thing anymore... nor do we hear about those kids after highschool/college... WHERE ARE OUR SUPERGENIUS DOOGIE HOUSERS TODAY?

Same thread on the Toonzone forum. Thought this was priceless:
We watched "The Lion King" in my math class once. After it was over, the teacher passed out worksheets that said: "If the circle of life had a diamter of 46 inches..."
