Craziest Question EVER on the HYPE!

You know what, I've re-thought it, and I won't bother debating this on here after all.

I've had this same online debate 3 or 4 times on different sites, and it always goes the same way:

- "There's SO many contradictions in the Bible!"
-Me: Really, like what?
-(Some are offered that have been chosen from a website)
-I show beyond reasonable doubt that it is not a contradiction
-Another supposed contradiction is offered
-I again prove it isn't a contradiction
-This continues until I give up due to not wanting to keep typing up answers ad nauseum to questions randomly selected from the internet by people who obviously already assume the Bible is wrong and won't listen to evidence to the contrary anyways.

Seeing as how something in my life took a frustrating turn I'm going to go back to things that are more lighthearted rather than go through the same process again.

What a random thread. :huh:

I thought it was a thread about the craziest question you've seen here on the hype, wasn't expecting a whole gay/bible debate thing. :csad:

As for which Marvel characters who I think can work as gay;
Angel/Archangel, Beast(I'm still confused if he truly is gay in the comics or not), Havok, Cypher, Siryn, Captain America,...

Characters I can see as Bi;
Dazzler, Longshot, Gambit(though I think this was in proved in a comic before already), Lila Cheney, Black Cat,...

I'm not counting characters that would use their sexuality to benefit them for a mission though, these are all characters I just see working as gay/bi characters. And I'm sure there is more I can't think of, but I do believe there are pre-existing characters that can be revealed to be gay without it feeling too much of a shock factor to sell comics.

Currently Beast is dating S.W.O.R.D director Agent Brand, so he's straight.

Captain America...

I think you just figured out a way for Marvel to start one of the biggest controversies in comic book history while simultaneously getting on the front page everywhere and selling millions of comics.

Oh sorry, I'm oblivious, I guess. lol

Trying to tell a decent story as opposed to pure shock value would be the challenge in making a character gay. But I can't really see the powers that be doing that to any of the really major characters (especially if it goes against 30+ years of character history). It would be nice if they made a relevant new character that plays a role in the larger MU, and who is established as being homosexual.

No kidding. Don't ask don't tell the Marvel way. I think in the long run it wouldn't work well for the charater though. 99.999999999999999999 percent of the people that read Cap are straight. And most of them wouldn't like it.

I'm a little buzzed right now, but do you guys ever think of the fact we have a website to come to, and actually talk about this stuff. Guys that actually care about talking about things that don't exist. It's pretty cool. Because otherwise we wouldn't really have many people to talk to. It's not like I could talk about this stuff with my wife.

Oh come on, you mean you really couldn't start a stimulating conversation with your wife by saying "Hey honey, do you think Captain America could be gay?" :hehe:

Oh, I didn't know the church changed it to sickness, health, and drug abuse. All clear now.

Having a drink of wine with the Mrs. is drug abuse? :whatever:

Probably the reason cap has had a "tame" romantic/sex life in comics is becuase of writers respect for the character and what he stands for. He's bigger than those issues.

I have nothing against homosexuals, but to make Cap gay would be a violation of everything that past writers have built up with the character. I could also say the same thing if cap's romantic life was really explored more...aside from the occasional flame or gal he's dating.

Cap's romances have only reached a certain level, becuase Cap stories are bigger than that. Even still he has quite the list of gals, and is pretty obviously straight.

Well, Cap got Sharon Carter pregnant recently. He's usually portrayed as not having much of a libido, though. I remember Diamondback talking about how Cap usually just wanted to stay in and watch old movies or play board games most of the time when they were dating.

Steve's just a touchy feely kind of guy. Type of person to whom sex is less important than spending time with someone special in any capacity.

I noticed a lot of people saying that if a character has a history of womanizing that they couldnt possibly be gay, but didnt Tomas Mikhail, a Starman, womanize for a long time before finding actual love with a man.

Angel/Archangel,

What? He get's all kinds of ass......off the top of my Head I can name Jean Grey, Candy Southern, Charlotte Jones, Psylock, Stacy X (more or less) and the underage Husk, who he boned in the air in front of her mother......damn you Austin.

Anyway, as to who they could make gay.....Raza Longknife of the Starjammers.....sure he had a wife and has a son.........he could be gay and no one would care.
