I’m not shocked. I’ve heard a lot of Singaporeans say it’s obviously aimed at western audiences with all the gratituious tourist shots and stuff. Sometimes it’s a bit over the top.

I must admit, when a movie randomly cuts to the Sydney opera house getting destroyed I do tend to roll my eyes

Or the Statue of Liberty or the Pyramids of Giza, the Eiffel Tower, etc. It's shorthand and lazy to depict a country or an area with some kind of landmark.

That's why Canada is generally safe from alien invasion: we have no landmarks that people in other countries recognize.
