After nearly 16 years since his portrayal of the Penguin in the movie sequel Batman Returns Danny Devito has been signed on in the new adaptation of the Batman franchise as none other but the Dark Knight himself.

Director Joel Schumacher is also returning as director hoping this new portrayal of the Dark Knight might make fans forget of the failure that was Batman & Robin. Devito is said to be a 'what if scenario' bringing a new spin on the Batman lore and crew members are excited to see 'a new type of Batman' although are keeping things low to the ground at the time being.
