Infinity War Crowd Reactions

I'm not gonna lie, at first even I didn't recognize him. The first thing I thought upon seeing (and hearing) him was "Why am I looking at a [BLACKOUT]Nazgûl with a german accent[/BLACKOUT]?" Then he showed his face.

I don't know why that would be shocking.
Not sure why I wrote
Skrull instead of Skull, but anyway... First Avenger is not exactly one of the most beloved MCU movies; it also came out 7 years ago, which is quite a long time.

That's why I'm kind of shocked to learn that random people are able to recognize its antagonist and that they liked him so much that they cheered when he appeared on screen. I mean... he's not Loki or Killmonger, he's the Red Skull.

Not sure where you are located....but here in the United States....[BLACKOUT]Captain America the First Avenger is shown on a couple of cable stations a whole lot. So even though it came out years ago, the general audience has a chance to watch it over and over.[/BLACKOUT]

Seeing it in an hour...will report back.

My audience was so lit. They clapped at the beginning and end of the movie. Cheered when Cap, Spidey and BP showed up on screen. Laughed at the appropriate times. Gasped a few times and roared at a certain Thor scene. All in all, my experience was so dope and I hope it's the same the next time I go!

So that was by far the most responsive audience I've ever been a part of. I don't even know where to begin because I'm not going to spoil anything, but... wow. See this with a crowd.

Agreed. Only Avengers came close in responsiveness, but it's still dwarfed (heh) by this movie. This was one of the best experiences I ever had in the theater.

All the heroes' debuts/power-up sequences got rousing applause. The appearance of [BLACKOUT]Red Skull[/BLACKOUT] definitely got the biggest reaction. Probably a solid minute of gasps and "oh ****!" from the crowd. Including me.

Laughs and Cheers during the movie and complete shock at the end. Legendary.

I'm from upstate NY and we're a little more "too cool for school" about things (which is really annoying sometimes) so most movies I go to the only reactions are laughs at jokes and sometimes applause at the end, but usually only on opening weekends. This movie had the most stunned silence at the end though that I have ever experienced, yet not a single person left until after the end credits scene. Usually, about 1/3 of the theater leaves. No one was moving. I think everyone was hoping for some last might trick reveal that would undo the last half hour of the movie. There were cheers for Cap and Thor. I myself had to fight not to react to seeing Red Skull because I've always had a feeling we'd see him again. Internal kudos for me! And I died just a little bit at one word... "Steve." You know by who. You know when.

JFC is it 2019 yet?!?

OT but just because other people mentioned it, but the loudest time I ever had in a movie was the midnight showing of Misery. We must have gotten the rock concert crowd because that's how loud it was, with people actually standing and stomping there feet during the final scenes. Although fun, that's not the type of movie-going experiences I want.

At my show last night...

...when Spider-Man started to disappear, the whole audience lost it, and then some guy shouted, “DON’T DO THIS TO SONY!!!!” :funny:

SO many reactions. I went to the earlier showing at 7pm, I usually go to the 10pm show, and the difference in energy really shows. Applause and cheers for the grand entrances of Cap, Thor on Earth, Bleeding edge armor, Iron Spider legs, the Guardians, the new Hulkbuster.
God, there were just so many.

When [BLACKOUT]Thor made that bad ass entrance into Wakanda[/BLACKOUT] people in my theater applauded. Honestly, I had to join in, myself. It was one hell of a moment.

Plenty of laughs and cheers. A lot of claps for Spidey showing up but the loudest cheer from the audience came when Cap made his first appearance. Plenty of cheers and claps when the heroes got major hits in and a lot of Oh **** sounds. Best reaction was after the movie was over and someone said "DC get your **** together" (I love DC I just thought that was funny to hear)

Holy ****. :funny: Talk about ruining the mood...

I involuntarily yelped 'What the F&@k??' When [BLACKOUT]Red Skull[/BLACKOUT] showed up. I was seated near a young kid so I felt kinda bad but I couldn't help it, people. I was just so surprised they did that.

Also the audience EXPLODED when [BLACKOUT]Panther and Steve launched into that brief two-man footrace to the front of the battle. I was excited too-- it's a shame the movie couldn't find time to give them better hero moments. Would it have been so hard to give Cap 5 seconds to do something like this??[/BLACKOUT]

Still loved the movie, though.

I was the first one in my theater to recognize Red Skull and was like, "Oh s***!" Ten people around looked at me and then gasped and were like, "It's Red Skull!"

Towards the end I heard a bunch of little kids crying and then when it cut to credits everybody around me was like, "I don't get it! What happened?!" I just had the biggest smile on my face knowing I was probably the only one in the theater to read the comics. Loved it.

A few claps/cheers, lots of laughs, silence and one guy tapping his foot against my seat quite a few times

I've seen it twice now; the first time on Friday (opening day in the states) at an 11 a.m. matinee showing - so not much of a crowd there - and the second time this evening (Sunday) at a different theater with a bigger crowd including my family of younger kids. Interestingly, the former crowd was more vocal; nobody from tonight's showing really did anything especially standout as far as reactions go; there were a couple of "oohs" for moments like when [BLACKOUT]Stark got stabbed[/BLACKOUT], and most of the jokes landed such that you could hear a few people laughing, but nothing really brought the house down. My siblings mostly sat dead quiet during most of it outside of some of the language-based jokes and the littlest one yelling "Black Panther!" when the drums came in and Wakanda was first featured. So pretty tame on that front.

The first crowd wasn't especially remarkable either; the reactions were more audible if only because of the smaller theater size and fewer people, but they were still pretty typical in terms of laughing and a few "oohs" or gasps at certain dramatic points. However, there was a great moment at the very end of the first screening I went to. It might be the best reaction I've ever seen and will ever see in a theater in my life, and I feel humbled and privileged to have experienced it.
So after the post-credits scene played and "THANOS will Return" showed onscreen, a black dude at the back (whose friend seems to have read these comics and was trying to explain the story to him during the credits to assure him that things could possibly still be alright) loudly stated "They got my n*gga too [referring to Fury/S.L.J.]," before audibly sucking his teeth and saying "Man, f--- Thanos!" before storming out of the theater. Everyone else just bust out laughing; this young woman sitting by herself in front of me turned around to look at me and we were both in stitches together for a good few seconds. (In retrospect, I should've asked for her number or something after that; who knows, could've been a great "How I met your mother" story down the line. :funny:)

Do the late shows not usually have more hardcore reactions?

I'm eternally grateful that South Africans are pretty chilled in the theatre.
We laugh quite easily at first go (even if later we don't find it so funny), we gasp at the appropriate times....

And thank the Lord there are no mid-film standing ovations that would cause me to have my own Hulk out scene!

In all honesty, for every film I've watched in the cinema, Saffers kinda just watch/get into the film and not do anything to possibly intrude on anyone else's viewing experience.

My Saturday 5pm IW theatre was the same, except the silence at the end scene seemed more profound than normal. No crying though, whew (I'm not a fan, sue me :D )..
And it didn't seem that many 'got' the post-credit scene.

Claps when Cap showed up, laughs at most of the Guardians scenes, loud cheers when Thor shown up in Wakanda, and stunned silence at the credit roll (95% of audience stayed).

It was a good showing.

The audience went nuts when Thor turned up. And when it looked like iron man was going to die you could hear people’s hearts breaking and people saying oh no.

That said though, the final moments? Dead silence. Not a word

Yeah the audience I was apart of reacted to much of what has already been posted but what gets me is that cut to credits. People were simply silent all knowing what we had just watched, [BLACKOUT]a movie where the villain wins[/BLACKOUT].

I went Thursday at an 8pm showing. Friday at an 2pm showing and Saturday to a 5pm showing. All of my showings were loud like this

The energy for this movie reminded me how everyone reacted to the first avengers movie

A black dude at my showing said
"Awwwww man not my n*gga, noooooo" when Black Panther turned to ash, then he stormed out and said "Yall better not say **** to me!"

I've been laughing from that since Thursday. :lmao:
