I've never seen a huge audience reaction to any film I've been to (bar laughter at comedies, obviously) - maybe it's an American thing. BvS was no different bar a subdued gasp at the end when you-know-what happened to you-know-who.
Never seen a pop in the theater like Wonder Woman got at a 7PM showing last Thursday and a 1PM showing yesterday. Not only were there audible cheers from the majority of the audience, a good number of people where physically emoting(arms in air, fistpumps etc.)
- Lex got a few laughs
- Wonder woman got a bit of excitement going
- People left early or right at the start of the credits
- People I was with were very tired by the end.

Went to a part yesterday and people were talking about. All liked it. One had a sister who about 16 who loved it. Though one of my friends who didn't see it said her friend told her it was rubbish but she also said he takes the rivalry very seriously.
Last Saturday I was at the 12:45 showing at the Lincoln Square IMAX in NYC. I was hanging with friends outside the theater when I saw a family of four come out. 2 parents, a boy and a girl around 6ish. They were all smiling. The kids were dressed up as Batman and Wonder Woman. The boy was running in circles holding his cape out and the girl ran up to her mom, grabbed her and said "I'm strong! I'm strong!"
I know the narrative surrounding this movie has been pretty negative around here, but that was really all I needed.
End of my second showing a chap behind me said "that was pretty good dunno what the critics where on about" to his friend and my father a couple seats from me gave me a thumbs up, my little brother said it was okay, my brother-in-law loved it and my two cousin sisters liked-loved it they said it was good but not wow good whatever that means lol.
liked wonder woman but worried how theyre going to do her movie
Liked affleck as batman
Cavell is solid as superman
Lois Lane is still annoying
didn't care for HOW luthor was portrayed
HATED how Doomsday comes about (another missed opportunity)
was very muddled in story...why was the legless dude sending checks back to bruce wayne??
perry white's disillusionment with reporting actual investigation news was a huge stretch
overlong
Did I mention how much I HATED how they brought in Doomsday?
the batmobile scenes where so dark I really couldn't see anything to enjoy it.
And how they did Doomsday sucked donkey..
overall it worked for an action/comic flick but meh..
Just watched it again. Smaller crowd but surprisingly good reception. Most surprisingly it was older folks who seemed to laugh at most of the jokes. I think the ridiculously loud background music turned them off in some parts though. As for kids either being scared or bored in the film. Lol. Yeah. Several groups with kids in them. Two in the same row as me. One with two boys and a girl and another with two boys. A couple of them seemed to get scared during Bruce's dream at his parents grave but they seemed to enjoy the rest of the film just fine. Everytime either Clark or Bruce showed up on film atleast two kids would be like "that's Superman/Batman" as if to let their parents know they knew the secret or something. If it was my first viewing I probably would have been annoyed, but it wasn't so I didn't mind.
One kid totally lost his **** when Batman was raiding that warehouse. His parents kept telling him to be quiet but he was copying the sound effects with his voice and going "woah!" Kid liked his Batman. He was from the group with three kids. They were the loudest group for obvious reasons.
They all cheered when Wonder Woman appeared but surprisingly the girl was more of a Superman fan. Then again considering how Cavill looks maybe it isn't that much of a surprise.
That little girl was adamant about Clark not being dead even though her older brothers were rubbing it in her face.
I noticed a couple of older guys cry during the Martha scene which was a surprise to me. I hadn't noticed anyone cry in my other screenings. There was some tear wiping and throat clearing at the end as well.
Saw it a second time in IMAX this time but it was a 10am showing so my audience was probably not woken up entirely since there was dead silence throughout seriously, I thought at least Martha's "cape" line would get a laugh but nada, zip, zilch. There were only two times clapping was heard and that was WW's entrance and the end credits.
I think I liked it a bit more this time after a week from having it all sink through but honestly it was a chore to have to be sitting 2 1/2 hours again.

I posted my recent audience reaction in the positive thread but my 4th viewing lines up EXACTLY with yours. Lots of older folk this time around and kids as well.
There was a mom with her kids dressed up like Spidey that were acting up and she didn't last 30 min with them until she left lol.
Kids were doing the same thing yelling out "Batmaaaan and Supermaaaan" when they were on screen.
No audience reaction or applause (crying, though) but they did like the movie. The guy behind me walking out said it was the best superhero he'd seen in awhile. Now we just need thousands of that guy for WOM, haha.
Went and saw it with my sister. Her quotes afterwards:
Before the Movie
"I normally dont go to the theaters to watch cartoon movies"
"I already know who is going to win because of who they have playing Batman"
After the Movie
"King Kong was better"
"It was like watching a Lifetime channel movie, you know, just a movie"
"Why is that creature in every movie? Its like the 'you can do it' guy from the Adam Sandler films. Its in everything. The same bumpy bare skin, big black soft eyes. I saw it in Lord of the Rings and other movies."
Well 1st time it was a quiet and at the end, I asked ome man how he felt and he said "I think I'might just going to digest what just happened". There was one couple debating about Wonder Woman'a powers and abilities. But 2nd time, got a much more reactive audience and I went with 10 other people.
- 2 of my friends were invested into Superman perceived story arc. First they were talking about how Superman causes a lot of damage in a fight due to the opening scene. They assumed that both Batman and Superman were d's, but by the time between the Africa sequence and the Capitol Hill explosion, they were invested in Superman'a personal arc. One of them said he would be mad if Clark stayed dead at the end of the movie.
- 4 of my friends thought Lex was well thought out, while the others were heavily comparing him to the Joker.
- The Justice League teases excited them.
- one was poking fun at how Lois was washing herself with no soap. Another criticism was how she had red hair instead of being a brunette, but I pointed in the 50's TV show, she had red hair as well.
- One lady in the audience was crying and whispered "Superman, no", but not 5 seconds after the movie was finished some people were laughing at her for thinking she was dead. But a few people did feel remorse when Superman died.
- people were applauding during the Doomsday action sequence.

Honestly, it doesn't happen all that much. I have lived in small towns and big cities ranging from Chicago to Pittsburgh. I've never been in a theater that erupted in applause and standing ovations, had people waving their arms in the air manically or fist pumping, etc. It makes me think 90 % of the stories I read in these threads are extreme hyperbole (if not outright lies).

People in both of my showings cheered at Wonder Woman, but that's about it.
I live in the south and one of the few times I remember an audience erupting in applause was the Loki-slam in the first Avengers. Every time I saw it in theaters I couldn't hear the "puny god" line because of how loud people were laughing and/or clapping.

You know, come to think about it, the biggest response I've ever got from a theater is when Hulk randomly punches Thor. It was more laughter than anything else.

It should be noted that a midnight/opening day crowd is going to be more energetic and excited than a Tuesday matinee showing. So I can buy the stories of people cheering and applauding at the right moments. I just don't know if this particular movie has a lot of moments to cheer/applaud for.

Well, the theatre was a little less than half full, (thought it be fair, there are a lot of options besides movies for entertainment in Vegas) and it wasn't a particularly enthusiastic crowd.
Not that there was anything for them to be enthusiastic about, if I'm being honest.
But this isn't the thread for that.
A couple of people came and went throughout the course of the movie, and I think one left completely after about ten to fifteen minutes in. Not much of a reaction to anything, and everyone was pretty quiet leaving after the movie.
Matinee showing this morning. Pretty solid crowd, I'd say around 70 people, good mix of ages. I was down in front so I don't know if anyone left during the show but if so it wasn't many. No reactions during the film or after tho that's pretty usual for crowds at my local joint. About half the crowd was staying for the credits.
