Was Hulk Hogan a dick about the name "Hogan" being used in a Spider-Man movie? That's really the only reason I can think of... lame as it may be. Plus, it doesn't make sense seeing as though Crusher Hogan was a character in comics long before Hulk Hogan started wrestling. Any know why they created Bone Saw McGraw for the movie instead of sticking with Crusher Hogan from the comics?

They just might have wanted to distance the character from Hulk Hogan for some reason. (No idea why though.)

Just a guess here but it might have something to do with Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan's legitimate loathing of each other. Rumors have swirled over the years that Hogan and Savage got into a lockerroom brawl in '93, Hogan's wife started another argument between the two men and there was a confrontation but not physicality at a club around 2004, I believe, according to Hogan. Savage also cut an album called "Be A Man" in which the title song is a direct insult to Hulk.
It could be that Savage balked at the idea of the name "Hogan". Also, Marvel and WWE ( then WWF ) came to some sort of agreement over the name "Hulk" in the mid 80s. Around '03, Terry Bollea ( Hulk's real name) brought the rights to his name & image from Vince McMahon. It could be that Marvel wanted to avoid an legal battle with Hogan over such a small factor in the movie.

I remember people whining about this, back in '02. "Who the heck is BONESAW MCGRAW?? Where is Crusher HOGAN??? This movie sucks!!!"

Children :whatever:

Jeez.

Talk about some people overreacting where it's definately not warranted.

In the title track he even teases the Hulkster about SM, with the line "your movies all flopped, Hollywood cant stand, meanwhile I got a starring role in Spiderman".

Best 40+ white guy rapping cd ever.

It seems pretty obvious that if you call a wrestler 'Hogan', people will immedietly think of the most famous wrestler of all-time. So just call him something else.

I heard that and chuckled. He didn't exactly have a starring role and it wasn't exactly a stretch of a character for Savage. Still, surpassing Hogan's acting skills doesn't take much. Also, Hogan actually rapped on his album in '95 and it made Macho Man's rapping look world class.:whatever:

I think I remember seeing a few clips of Hogan rapping/singing from his E! True Hollywood Story. And yes I concur, it was pretty horrid. :o

I heard the whole album. It was one huge egofest. I think "Hulk" was in the title of all but 1-2 of the songs. The only redeeming ones were the ones sung by his wife ( the lyrics were stupid but she has a decent voice ) and the "American Made" ring entrance song which was also sung by someone else.

Thats interesting. I didnt know Linda could sing at all, but I have always found her to be very easy on the eyes. Didnt know about "American Made" being on the album either, but I do remember hearing it on the fairly mediocre WCW Album that was released around '99, but only with Tony Schivone (or however it's spelled) screaming, "He's back! My god! He's back!" thru most of it. :D

Neither of the songs justified the $5 I spent on the tape. I still felt cheated but I agree that she's still a good looking woman.
I haven't heard that WCW album but I remember that exact line from Nitro. I thought TS was going to have a stroke or heart attack from the way he was reacting to Hulk being back in his red & yellow attire. :whatever:

Yeah, but we are talking about the same guy who often proclaimed that week's edition of Nitro as, "The biggest night in professional wrestling history". :cwink:

Kind of a bold statement to make repetitively, isn't it? Especially considering WCW's weaking booking in the late 90s.

It's too bad that David Crockett couldn't have been right next to TS. Just once I wanted to hear him call a Hogan match. With the way he reacted to babyfaces, he would have exploded at HH's face turn that night.

Yes it most certainly was, but that was Tony for ya. Although I wouldnt doubt Bischoff telling him to do so in order to spike ratings in any way possible.

That would have been entertaining.

I love Macho Man. One of my favorite wrestlers of all time.

I thought he did very well in Spidey 1 though BSM wasn't much of a stretch from his ring persona. I just find it funny that he and Hogan argue over who had the biggest acting career since neither is really a star in Hollywood.

Very true. Also, the same can be said with the Roddy Piper and Hogan arguements as well. Which I found entertaining, since both guys were ultimately "straight to video" actor's at best during their acting careers.

I miss guys like bakerboy and Mr. Parker. :( I'd love to have seen what they thought about Venom in SM3.

IMO Piper has them both beat with They Live alone.

Although I guess for box office success Rock would be the winner.

Bone Saw was awesome in the film felt even better personality then Crusher...

"Bone Saw Is REEEEEEAAADDDDY"

That make me laugh EVERY TIME LOL :woot:

I thought Bone Saw was great! He looked strong, and tough, and we got to see how strong he was by elbowing a guy by jumping off a top rope, and tossing a guy out of the ring. They are both great though.

I'm pretty sure the elbow drop was a little wink to Macho Man. Was definitely cool.
