Alright... So I saw Hulk Animatics last week

I'll take his word for it. Why would he lie?

Well thats the whole reason why I delayed even posting about it, cause I dont have pics, you can get thrown out of Magic fast if you get caught with a camera nad being that I was flown in there by my parent company I dont need to have to explain that at all. The end of it is that there is no real Hulk info out there so I figured I might as well share what I saw. The cars footage was two separate cars and he smashed them together so they wrapped around his fists. The director was in the footage saying his stuff and Ed Norton had some lines, then they cut to the concept art of Bruce Banner running across a New York building with the Army guys after him. Mad Engines booth is all black with a chain link fence on the sides. There is only one entrance in and that is where they hang up the t.v., Magic is twice a year and it's the same booth for them every year. Heck last summer i had to pain a giant Venom logo on the side cause of the Spiderman 3 merchandising so you can say that I know the booth well.

sounds like king kong.

On first impressions I would think that too, but King Kong wasn't elbow dropping cop cars off the sides of buildings. So, in theory I would agree, but the animations are far more complex then a gorilla tossing cars thank-goodness. You can definitely see that he's actually fighting back which I thought was cool.

So, the Hulk does the same moves in a live action film that he does in the video game...

Riiiiiiggghhhhhttt..........

God, I hope this is B.S., because that sounds incredibly Lame.

At first sound... yeah, it really does. But I'll see how it looks on film before I make judgements.

Besides, you never know, they could have just been tests to play with the model, just as he said they had concept art.

With the whole boxing glove car thing...
If it was being seen at an industry show, it was probably just test footage that won't end up in the movie.
It was probably done as a comparison..."Let's do some scenes from the game and see how we can make them look."
To put something in a movie that is just a scene/tactic from a video game of a movie they are trying to distance themselves from...

Hulk throwing cars at choppers sounds fun:woot:

the boxing gloves thing sounds ******ed IMO but him throwing cars at choppers sounds great and the elbow drop ...meh.

Exactly what I am thinking (test footage). More in my opinion playing with and tweaking a model they will be using.

Oh, and the game wasn't of the last movie. Hulk Ultimate Destruction was its own entity.

The boxing glove thing worked as a weapon in the game, but live action would look like Uwe Boll-level cheese.

Throwing cars at a chopper, sounds like the hulk. Hulk running up a building and doing a flying elbow drop sounds straight out of the damn game.

No it was from the movie and it wasn't cartoony either, I worked at Mad Engine for over a year, we got early rpomo vids like that for X3, Spiderman 3 and Ghost Rider

mystory64, did the Hulk still have the same hair that he was sporting in the Youtube vid from Comicon?

Yes, you have me on the game/movie tie-in (or lack thereof). However, it was released kinda in conjunction with the movie, and that is what makes me think of it as the "movie game."

Hulk running up buildings could be cool but the gloves thing really pisses me off, how can they think that wont look crap?

Well the movie did have a game "Hulk" that came out with it. I guess it didn't have much to do with the movie either. That may be the you were thinking of?

Again, arn't we jumping to conclusions? I don't believe the guy is lying. But when you're working with CG you don't just jump straight into making the film. You make the model, you see how it interacts, how it moves, and during those processes people play with them and make them do all kinds of crap that NEVER makes it into a movie.

If we see it in the trailer or in the movie, fine, lets all start complaining but off of what is almost bound to be a rough animation test? Eh.

If you think that ILM didn't have thier Transformers doing a bunch of crazy crap in the form of rough animation that never made it into the film, then for shame.

I mean heck the studio who did Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, went as far as to use their characters in a fully rendered scene doing the dance from Michael Jackson's thriller.

you have a point, i just really dont want anything like that in the movie

Yea same face too, but because he was moving it just looked like typical hulk hair, to be honest I was really looking at his feet, his build was similar to the Capcom fighting games, I know it's another game reference but it's the closest ref I could think of.

Nor do I, and I doubt it will be. If it is in there though... I've had my fair share of eye rolling moments in super hero movies, so, I'd be ticked but if the movie was good I'd probably forgive them.

I wouldn't mind that scene. Him fighting the Abomination and crushing cars in each fist to bash the crap out of him. It depends how it's done. It seems cheesey thinking about it but it could be done cool. Let's wait and see instead of vaporlocking over the topic. LOL

Well yeah, like I said earlier, I think it'd be cool if it just looked like two fold over cars stuck to his fists, smashing into stuff. But it it literally molds on like boxing gloves like in the game, I would probably laugh.

I think the boxing glove idea sounds great but I can understand people thinking it is cheesy.

The only way I can think of it being accpeted by Hulksters is if Hulk doesn't use the cars as real boxing gloves, like punching, but smashing the two cars in the sides of Abominations head. Like the Ultimate Hulk vs Ultimate Abomination fight.

That won't happen that way it's not a game it's a live action film. Marvel isn't stupid.

I agree with Nivek. If they dumb this down and make it a video game this movie will suck big time. I can see The Hulk chucking a car but the rest of that crap sounds stupid.

The boxing glove thing won't be in it. There's no reason for it. It's not like they increase his destructive power, his fists alone are much harder than the cars. He'd do that if he wanted to soften his blows(relatively speaking). The elbow drop sounds cool, but it seems overkill just to smash a car. I'm thinking Abomb will be there between Hulk and the car. The running up the side of the building is ok, these two are going to be rebounding of the city's architecture plenty(kinda like Spidey but sticking more from the sheer strength of their fingers digging into the concrete sides of the buildings).
