Alright... So I saw Hulk Animatics last week

I agree with Nivek. If they dumb this down and make it a video game this movie will suck big time. I can see The Hulk chucking a car but the rest of that crap sounds stupid.

Who said they were dumbing it down? Who said they were making it a video game? It's a comic book movie and this is The Hulk fighting the Abomination. This isn't Guns of Navarone. LOL We want a big destructive fight in NY...period. That means smashing buildnigs, cars, and everything around. Using a car in one scene like that doesn't dumb down a movie. It shows The Hulk's absoloute strength...if done right. There's nothing to suggest this movie won't be done right.

Edit: Just briefly had a back and forth with someone who works for a company working on The Hulk film and he didn't give me any details (cause he can't) but he said we'll all be amazed by the trailer when it comes out. I imagine before XMAS.

I can't wait for that!! Also in a few days the Iron Man teaser is going to be released as well. Good times all around. :yay:

lol...there's the difference, i dont want distruction just for the sake of it, Hulk doesnt need cars in his hands to beat Abomi, and the elbow drop is crap too, if i want to watch that kinda stuff, i'll stick to WWE, Hulk should be pure rage IMO, punches, punches and more punches, not flying elbow drops, moonsaults and leg drops.

PM? EmeraldBeast? Where the heck did he go anyway?

But seriously AD, isn't the elbow-smashing "from the top ropes" thing just as bad as the pole-vaulting tribe in KK? Or Jack Black running in between the brontosauruses?

Nothing is as bad as that.

Ad, buddy O'l pal, "IF" they are. I for one hope not to see any of the above mentioned scenes except maybe the Hulk chucking a car. The throwing bricks thing, boxing gloves made from cars and an elbow smash makes me cringe. The Hulk is not an ultimate fighter, a boxer or a street fighter. He's savage. His fight against Abomy should be along the lines of King Kong T-rex battle in KK. A Knock Down Drag-out Brawl. Think about it, is Banner a fighter? Do you think he knows how to fight? What Banner knows the Hulk knows. If Banner isn't a trained fighter (someone who would utilize the side of a building to land an elbow) then neither is the Hulk. That's my opinion anyways. If (IF) they dumb this down to appease the the masses, they are headed in the wrong direction. There's nothing to suggest this movie won't be done right? What we've heard here is the first thing that really has me worried. I hope it's all for nothing.

They will not dumb the movie down. Norton is not stupid and LL has the action in the bag. The action will be savage. Cars, bricks, street lamp poles, whatever is close will be used as weapons.

The poster said the Hulk was not full rendered, just grayscale, he saw some action which is probably just for test shots to see how Hulk interacts with his surroundings.

Advanced,

Would you please elaborate on what kinds of clips from the TV series were they showing mixed in with the animatics?

Bixby hitching? White eyes and/or Hulk-outs? Lou's Hulk? McGee?

I am just curious and sort of excited that they would be ballsy enough to actually try and tie in the TV show to this re-boot. Maybe this time around, they really are serious about sticking closer (in some ways) to the show, and not just saying it to bait fans into theaters and giving us nothing but changing Banner's dad's first name from Brian to David. Ugh.

As I posted in another thread... Bill Bixby-inspired Banner + comicbook size/looks/power Hulk = perfect.

I was going to say the same thing. I was even going to reference that "brick pie-fight" (or whatever) rumor.

No Abomination from what I saw it was mostly the police and army types chasing him, it was hard to watch actually cause the owner of the company watermarked his name in the center of the screen and i kept seeing the name Alby Amato over and over again. It may have just been animation tests for all I know, but it was just random shots of the Hulk smahsing things, using the buildings as "walls" to jump off of, the fighting had a bit of pro wrestling involved not unlike the last fight in Blade 2.

Well if they are using that fight for a reference, they are doing the right thing IMO, that is THE best Hero vs ~Villian fight in any SH movie IMO.

If the Hulk vs Abomination fight is like that, then hell yeah!

Watch the clip at 01:25 where you see a great elbow drop which does not look stupid. Also watch the clip at 02:03 where Blade breaks the guys arm/shoulder and then the guy pops his back into place. That would look great in TIH, with the regeneration ability. And watch the clip at 02:26 and 02:36, it has Hulk written all over it!

Now try the video above. The only part you stick between the "youtube tags" is the fxozsipk-m4

now that's a perfect example...and the perfect length of time they should fight to

I like the mania and the energy of that fight and I agree about the part where he gets swung like a baseball bat and such but I don't want Abomb and Hulk doing martial arts either. Also their fight is likely to have a much greater range(distance-wise) than this fight did(just use the Metropolis fight in Superman 2 as a guide reference for what I mean). I think the length of this fight is a good fit as well.

Thanks for the info...everything sounds pretty sweet except for that part with the car boxing gloves. I don't see how they could manage to do that without it looking corny.

They managed to have a giant green Hulk jump for miles and practically fly without it looking corny.
