It isnt Mystic Falls that is the most dangerous place...its Elena who is the problem.

Elena just keeps making annoying decisions over and over. The most recent big dumb one was thinking she "had to be there to stop the hunter" just go sit down(please).

Stef is finally free of this pink ball and chain. Sucks cause he's the one that really deserves to be happy imo, but he's better off. NEXT.

I'm guessing Silas will be around soon.

i think he most definitely will if he hasn't already. /looks at the professor.

also i'm glad that elena and stefan finally broke up.

Just watched the episode.

I've always known the show to have a protagonist-centred morality but... wow. Talk about completely throwing someone under the bus. Stefan and co completely turned on that Hybrid who helped them, after having practically begged him to help them in the first place and promising to have his back in case Klaus came after him. Only to single him out when they needed a body to kill.

Sure, people have gotten hurt and even died as a consequence of their actions before. But I think this is the first time where they deliberately killed someone after he helped them, for helping them and in order to further their own interests.

I dunno... doesn't this - how they used somebody only to dispose of them once they serve his/her purpose - make Stefan (and the others) no better than Klaus and Katherine? Honestly, I'm surprised Tyler wasn't more pissed off at them. Maybe he was. Hopefully, we'll see more of a fallout in the next episode.

These characters- particularly Damon and Stefan- have already proven that they are ready, willing and able to throw anyone and everyone into the fire if it means saving Elena. All the **** Katherine was saying to her (hallucination or not) was true. And I kind of hope it's something characters start picking up on. If any of them do, yeah, it'll probably be Tyler. I don't just want fallout. I want it to be the start of something new.

Perhaps. Though most of the time, they were spur of the moment, unintentional, desperate actions. Where as this time, it was almost calculated; and at the very least premeditated.

P.S.:
My brain just made this mental click. Jeremy is now a vampire hunter. And he used to date Anna, who was a (fundamentally good) vampire. Wouldn't this make them a gender-flipped Buffy-and-Angel? Also, doesn't it make their 'shipping' name of "Annemy" (pronounced 'enemy') surprisingly appropriate? :D

I still dont know how Bonnie can even be friends with the Salvatore brothers or Elena after how much they have messed up her life.

I feel like it should be everyone vs. the love triangle (which seriously needs to come to an end after 4 freakin years)

Couldn't agree more. I actually really hope Bonnie comes around to the way of the Hunters and that Professor. Jeremy already seems destined to go down that road. Tyler's pissed, and he should be. Matt needs to stop kissing the ass of the people who've made it perfectly clear that his life means nothing to them (Damon's the only one who's said it out loud, but if Stefan could do it all again, he def. would've let the kid drown). Elena's their friend, but there's a certain point where it's like, is this chick even worth all the death and the pain that comes with being her friend? She's got two suitors, one of which has been very callous about the fact that he will kill anyone and everyone if it means spending one more moment with her, and the other that sometimes goes so nuts over the taste of blood that he ****ing rips people's heads off.

At this point, turning the others against the triangle seems natural. For them to keep shrugging off the **** they leave on their doorstep and keep on going under the guise of a friendship with Elena... that would be unnatural.

I can definitely see lines being drawn between vampires and non-vampires (including hybrids!). As some reviewers have pointed out; there is a major difference in how the show's vampires and werewolves operate. The former tend to treat others as tools to be used to pursue their personal interests. Meanwhile, werewolves and hybrids see their friends and compatriots as part of their 'pack', and hence try to have their back.

Think about it... all the pieces are there.

1. The events over the past few weeks where hybrids get callously sacrificed for the sake of vampires; which might serve as a catalyst to break their sire bond.
2. The show brought Hayley us this season for a reason. Thus far, her main agenda at the moment is to break the hybrids' sire bond.
3. The potential 'vampire cure'. They've been pretty heavy-handed in its foreshadowing that people will be fighting for it.

Caroline is the only real likeable vamp on this show that you can actually trust.

Two new faces are coming to Mystic Falls.

Camille Guaty and Charlie Bewley will guest-star in at least two episodes of The Vampire Diaries, TVGuide.com has learned.

Guaty, whose credits include Prison Break and Las Vegas, will play Caitlin, a woman from Professor Shane's (David Alpay) past. Shane has been helping Bonnie (Kat Graham) to relearn her magic, but he might be bad news, considering it was he who sent vampire hunter Connor (Todd Williams) to Mystic Falls.

Meanwhile, Bewley, who portrayed vampire Demetri in the Twilight films, will play Vaughn. Details about his role — other than he's tough and rugged — are being kept under wraps, but considering Klaus (Joseph Morgan) & Co. are in search of the vampire hunters, we're guessing (and hoping!) he'll be one of The Five they've been seeking.

Both actors will first appear in Episode 13, with the potential to return for more. Do you think the new additions are good or bad news?

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.

#SweetJesus @ the amazing dresses Caroline and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) are wearing tonight.

Not a bad episode, but not the best either. Damon-Elena revelation? Yeah... we didn't see THAT coming. Klaus & Caroline? Still sweet as ever

Jeremy staking Stefan? Caroline giving Elena/Damon a piece of her mind? This is quite gratifying.

bit of a cop out with the elena and damon sire thing.

Agreed. Just when Elena was going somewhere and kicking mommy stephan to the curb they go and "oh elena is a mind slave." And to have Damon know about it and admit it in the next episode is even worse. They need to let these character grow and evolve. Not reset them every season to elena/stephan and manipulating damon.

On last night episode:
-Yeah Elena being sired to Damon is kinda lame. I mean that's basically a form of rape (or at least "fantasy rape") if he knew about it. And while I could see season 1 Damon doing it to Elena after all that has happened since then I think it's weak writing. Also since when have vampires been sired by the vamps who turned them? Has that always been a thing?
Also if Elenafinds out shes sired and that Damon knew about it, but she still is confused triangle...then I have to call bs on that
-Klaus and Caroline...I'm just not buying it. In fact, even though I think he gives a good performance I think they should end all the originals. Especially Klaus he's overstayed his welcome.
-Who is supposed to be the big bad? The hunter(s)? Because they dont feel like much of a threat. I know there are usually 2 big bads a season I wonder if theyre switching it up.

Also I actually rewatched the whole series seasons 1-3 (instead of studying for finals) and just some thoughts it's amazing how this show, to me, turned from guilty pleasure that i watched while waiting on Supernatural to must see tv for me

EDIT: Was Gabby Douglas one of the flower girls in the episode?

And honestly that's a big problem i have with a lot of the interspecies romance arcs in books, tv, etc. today. A lot of people are willing to die for some girl. I see why Klaus wants to keep her alive. But really if Elena died:
1. Klaus wont be able to create any more of his hybrid army
2. Damon and Stefan would leave town, at least for a while. So all the problems that come with them would be gone
3. Bonnie, Matt, Jeremy, & Caroline wouldnt have their lives at risk damn near everyday from being around her

Sure it'd be sad for all the characters but it's for the best. But I know that wont happen until the end of the series possibly

I honestly think the writers need to move from Elena being the focus. I dont mean she shouldnt be the main character, but i think that make the big bad not have such a focus on her like the usually do.

The idea of everyone vs Damon/Stefan/Elena but that wont happen for more than an episode I think. I really wish they didnt kill off Ester because that wouldve been a really good big bad for a season

I don't think the Elena/Damon thing is a cop out, and I don't think Damon really had knowledge of the sire bond. If he did, I don't think he would've gone out of his way to tell her she couldn't ever drink blood from a bag. I don't think he's aware that she's really his puppet.

So, the show went into its lore this episode, explaining that Klaus' sire bond over his hybrids is due to their gratitude from sparing them having to uncontrollably transform into werewolves and that they have to repeatedly transform to break said bond.

Meanwhile, Elena's bond to Damon is because his blood saved her from drowning, right? So... does this mean to break the bond, they need to waterboard Elena?

Well, unless its manipulated, which it doesnt look to be, the preview for next week says otherwise. Stephan asks him if he knew and damon indicates yes. Even if Damon didnt know its still ****** writing. The writers haven't set this concept up at all for vampires. Its like they wrote themselves into an area they weren't comfortable with and had to backtrack so they came up with a BS sire bond excuse so that Elena can go back to Stephan.

What preview are you watching? The one I've seen has Damon calling complete bull**** on the idea of a sirebond.

Thats a different preview than the one that played after my episode. This is the one that played after mine.

This one plays it like damon knew.

Either way it still doesn't fix the problem of it being lazy crap writing.

well this clip shows stephan telling damon and damon not believing it.

I still don't see what's so bad about it. It actually makes sense out of what a difficult whiny ***** she's been about the change. "Waaah, I can't drink out blood bags. Waaah, forest animals aren't doing the trick. Waaah, everything Stefan's telling me is wrong, so I'll do whatever you say, Damon." It's not Damon being right, it's Damon's pessimism and pigheadedness about the situation infecting her.
