Guess it´s a reflex, one look at those glasses and all his leadership skills, field experience, combat skills, tactical mind, goes out the window.
Dude needs either a character design revamp or a Black Bolt-type power boost
He´s a war veteran, he should instil the level of respect Nick Fury or Cap does.
As for this situation, I don't think Kitty and Peter are getting killed on that next page, and that's why I think they DID kill off Cyke. Plus Marvel ****es out it's comics to match it's movies.
It's disgusting, but Marvel is so bad except for Dan Slott's stuff that I don't read their books anyway.

You're right I am trying to remember that time Captain America sacrificed his own wife to save the world (which Cyclops did twice...once in Phoenix Saga, once in Inferno...he also sacrificed himself once, killed Apocalypse, killed Sinister and helped defeat Stryfe).......oh wait he never did that.Ben Urich said:Yeah, except Captain America isn't a ****ing *****ebag (except in Ultimates). And he actually does stuff besides shoot beams from his stupid eyes and date/marry insanely all-powerful *****es.

Cyclops, when written well, is probably the single best X-Man created. He has a mutant power which is the bane of his existence. He leads a team and is damn good at it. He is very confident in his decisions but very awkward with women. Moreover he only opens up to very certain people in the x-books (Wolverine not being one of them). He has an extremely troubled past, one that makes Wolverine look like a wuss (coma, testing by Mr Sinister, everone he ever loved killed, many ressaurections of loved ones, typically a lot of backstabbing, possible child prostitution). He has so little, but he makes so much of it and he never ever quits.
He speaks with authority but also with conviction as a true leader should. However he is no idiot and is practical in how he sees reality.
He is humble about his abilities, and though you'd never know it Wolverine (has said this) is actually afraid and very respectful of Scott.
Furthermore for all his flaws, Emma missed why he is leader. He is good at it, and he was the first X-Man. He has proven his leadership too, when he faced down Jason Wynguard in an illusion for Jean, when he "killed" Sinister in Inferno, took care of his son in a time warp furing his honeymoon, sacrificed himself to save Nate Grey, "killed" Apocalypse, took charge of the X-Men in Xavier abscence, single handedly led the X-Men back to civilization during the Phoenix saga after they "died", would have piloted the shuttle through the Phoenix force until Jean took his place, if these things aren't making yourself KNOWN (as Emma put it) I don't know what is.
Emma needs to stop criticizing everyone (especially Captain America in House of M) whenever she feels inclined. As I recall she captured and caged the X-Men, sat idly by as the Helfire Club imprisoned Jean, tried to kill Jean, and as for leadership....wasn't she...oh yeah the one who got EVERY LAST ONE of her Hellions killed....
what were you saying about Scott again.
Sigh.Ben Urich said:Cyclops is the ****ing most superfluous character in comic books. Let Storm lead the team; at least her powers are useful.
**** Cyclops. ****ing prick.![]()
Every person who hates Cyclops should be required to read this post.
But just like Ben Urich, they'd just ignore it. Fans like that hate Cyke because they're told to do so. They want to like whoever's "cool".
i agree.. id like to see him leave the mansion after emma betrays his ass..Kotagg said:Ahh, yes. Every fan that hates Cyclops only do so because they're told to, right? I'm pretty sure it's a fact, you can look it up somewhere?
Pontification doesn't suit anyone.
Keep in mind, I don't hate Cyclops. I think he's a dull character, and the only time he *wasn't* dull was in the AoA. I honestly think his character needs to fly solo for a bit, and create his own identity. The only problem with always being associated with a team to the extent of being the embodiment of the team is that you lose your own individual niche in existence. Cyclops *is* the X-Men - he's not even really a person.
That said, I think he'd be rather interesting single, and even possibly not a part of the X-Men any longer. Have him leave and go to Alpha Flight, or the West Coast to start a new team, or ANYTHING.
You see, me? I don't like whoever is "cool," Kurosawa. I like who is interesting. Make Cyclops interesting, and I'll like him. Otherwise he's as interesting as any other Paladin - and that's not at all.
