I do like Rises but it did a lot of things I didn’t like. I think it’s a good film but I don’t like some of the decisions.

I will say though the music across the Dark Knight Trilogy is something really special.

The tone is off, those woodwind flourishes, stopped and fluttered brass and marimbas and xylophones, this is not Burton's weird fetisho-fairy tale-circus world.

The composition itself is great, it's just stuff for a different universe. Only thing I can hope for now is Danny at least tried to make it sound more DCEU appropriate.

Nope. I think he bought the 1989 album, put it on his computer and slapped it over the JL video track. Whedon tried to talk sense into him but Danny forced him at gunpoint to release the film as is.

I think JL Batman is closer to the look/feel of the animated series, that's why the song works. Whereas Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight series was quite its own thing.

Yeah this is very true. Nolan's series just didn't have that gothic/whimsical feel that the Burton films/TAS series had. Like you said though, JL has a similar vibe so it works so much better for me.

I didn't like the idea of it at first, but seeing Batfleck with that theme going really did it for me. Felt like I was looking at the definitive Batman.

Same here. Although I don’t know how much of that is due to the nostalgia factor.
