I'm going to be bum-bum-bum-bum-bummmed if Batman's BvS theme isn't in the movie
You're going to be super bummed then.
You're misunderstanding me. I'm not saying Elfman should copy every single thing Zimmer and Junkie did. By his own accord he should create his own original content, but also finding a balance between utilizing the motifs of old and the motifs of new.
I'm expecting the Zimmer MOS and WW theme to make an appearance.
Well...sounds like my fears have come true. I really don't think Elfman is bringing back the MoS score.
The tracks I've listen to sound 30 ****ing years old and generic as hell. They really are trying their hardest to make this a marvel movie and kill my hype huh.
And please...dont anyone dare even think about replying to me saying something like, "calm down, youve only heard a couple of tracks. The mos theme will be there."
Just don't...I don't want to be banned.
All I will say is this. I really don't think they're trying to make a Marvel film. Do I think they're applying some of what has made the MCU successful? Yes. But that began the moment WB decided to create a shared universe. The MCU ain't the only successful universe though. The Fox/X-Men universe is flourishing as well and I think some important lessons can be learned from them as well, especially since they literally kicked off the CBM craze.
Ultimately though, I won't try to make you any promises since I know as much as you do. But I think in terms of the overall tone here, it won't be the old DCEU. But it won't be the MCU either.
Yes but you know what the two things are that are unsuccessful at marvel? The scores and quippy villains. And it seems like they took both and smacked it right into this movie.
I haven't heard any quips from Steppy so far.
But I'll also be greatly disappointed if we don't get to hear any of Zimmer's MOS tracks, as it goes past simply liking them - it is an important part of establishing continuity between the films.
I heard a quip from Steppy in the latest TV Spots. Not going to post that in here. But it's on YouTube.
Actually it's in the SHH main page.

Ah, that line. I don't really see it as a quip, but I can understand why some would.
It just feels like something Ultron would say...that's all.

Again that's still a personal preference thing. I hated the old Superman theme because it reminds me of how unrealistic and corny Superman was during the 70s. Zimmer's theme knocked my socks off with a Superman that made me a fan of the character and started reading Superman comics, so we each have our own preferred definitive version.See, for me, its not just another theme. Its a huge part of who the character is. Not including it is like not having the S shield.
Yeah, by all means up date it to 2017, but without it, it just feels like something is missing.
And the pop itll get from old and young in the audience, if its in there properly, will be huge.
If used at the right time, itll blow the ****ing doors off, trust me. Zimmers theme is good, but it doesnt have that power.
I think it's pretty solid stuff so far. It's very "throwback" even beyond the use of familiar themes, which is exciting in itself. It's going to set the mood nicely.
The use of the Williams theme is so "blink and you'll miss it" that it hardly matters.
Anyone else hear bits of Ottman's SUPERMAN RETURNS approach?
As for "generic", everything is generic. Zimmer and Junxie's drums and electronics ounds aren't any less generic, just more modern.
