Watched the clips. Elfman's score sounded appropriate, and really loved how he brought his Batman theme back.

It's irritating how the pro-Snyder folks keep harping about how "whimsical" and "old-fashioned" it sounds. How about waiting until the movie comes out and see how the score plays in the film before complaining?

I love the clips, loving what I'm hearing. I can't wait!

I just did, and in the scenes they clashed horrifically and were incredibly distracting best parts were the quiet parts when the music all but faded out.

I haven't watched the clips but how does Elfman's score sound during the action sequences so far?

too lighthearted and whimsical for a battle scene where the possibility of death is very present.

I personally think it's fitting. Nothing took away from the shots, only enhanced them (and the shots are already quite spectacular). The only thing that I noticed that might've been slightly out of place was a quiet comedic tune that played in a funny moment for Flash. But then again, I've never gone all out to pay attention to soundtracks for comedies, so I'm not exactly the expert on what should suit in such a moment or not. And let's be honest, the Dark Knight series nor MoS or BvS had comedic moments, so we don't know if Hans Zimmer or Junkie XL would've fared any better.

I didn't watch all the clips, and I won't be very objective because I really like Elfman composition and arrangement but on the tunnel one, it sounds really good to me !
It's less bombastic than the previous installement, it seems we're less in a "wall of sound" type of music and the focus seems to be now more on back and forth between the instruments to maintain the action.
From what I can ear, there is staccato bass lines, fast strings, brass ponctuation and some low choir.
I know it can be called "retro" but it's more that it's a music meaned to be played by a classic orchestra.
Imo, it's fresh to have that in the franchise, and more important, to me, it fits.

I don't mind it too much. That being said I hope they swiftly give Elfman the boot.

(and get Steven Prince back because the skwad OST was awesome)

That it was, so he definitely needs another shot, ideally one where they don't cover it up after the fact with a bunch of pop songs.

With comments like this, you are no better than the folks who call anyone who criticises the previous DC movies as "haters". Have you ever considered some people actually dont like Elfman's music that you love so far? That it actually might be bad to some people?

And they dont have to wait till the movie to say that. They can say that from the clips, just like the many judging JL from the clips we have seen so far.

It's fantastic. It might sound old fashioned, but it is not at all a bad thing. It really adds a heroic element to the film while also complementing the visuals very nicely with both of them totally reminding you of the DCAU TV Shows.

It is as if the DCAU is magically brought into life. And Danny Elfman's sound plays an important role in strengthening that special experience.

I still need to see and hear some Greek gods vs Apokolipsians battle to judge how Elfman's music works in huge fight scenes but his production level is so old-school sounding I seriously doubt it will be anything even close to Zimmer's vast sweeping bombastic stuff.

It's ironic how the only portion of the score I've heard this far that I've liked is the Burton theme in the Gordon clip.

Love the use of the Batman theme in that clip  So awesome, all the clips were really good.

From those clips, score sounds way better than anything Zimmer & Junkie XL composed for BvS.

Batman has one theme.

and whatever he had in BvS is not a theme.

here, it just doesn't work with JL:

Holy ****. That is so much better than what we got.

That video doesnt work because that doesnt use the correct part of the theme. They should have used the portion that played during bvS when he is atop the crane.

The one that starts at 0.07 seconds.

Damn that would have even better!

Let's not get carried away now. Batman can have many themes within each different interpretation.

But yes, the B89 theme is dope as fudge.
