Justice League Danny Elfman Scoring Justice League - Part 2

I listened to the Bonus Track version of "The Final Battle" and noticed a difference. Thought it would only be extended as opposed to different, because the Williams theme isn't heard all the way as it is in the shorter version, just half-way.

This worries me, regardless of Elfman. I mean the shorter version was at least better hearing 5 seconds of the Superman theme.

Does anyone know which of these will be used in the film?

I like that track better than the original, because there's a kickass motif in the later part of the track. But I liked the Williams theme in the album version.

I haven't listened to the soundtrack, but I hope that theme that plays about 2 minutes in during Trailer 2 is in the movie, that slowed down version of the MOS theme.

Can't seem to get the actual video to show up, so here's a link comparing the music in Trailer 2 to the MOS theme.

It won't be in the movie, judging from reactions. It's most probably only gonna be those opening piano notes and nothing else.

Credit where its due. The Hero's track is probably the best and most epic piece of music in the Soundtrack. I'm happy if its the JL track.

From 2.50 onwards to 3.10 its EPIC as ****. I wish the rest of the soundtrack was as good.

Agreed.

I feel his enthusiasm is not same as he had when he did the score for Spider-Man 2.

This part and the part from 1:58 min gave me chills.

Sigh...all this talk of nostalgia...you can tell me what you guys think? The minority of people that I meet today are usually tend to be "old-movie phobic" if you will. For me, most movies from the seventies set the standard--Yes, many of them are dated, but that's really the era when the blockbuster was born. Some of the movies aren't dated at all. Most of Superman: The Movie isn't either. After all, this was the inspiration that Christopher Nolan used for his take on Batman Begins, and Patty Jenkins for Wonder Woman.

I'm always surprised to meet anyone today that has told me they never watched the "old" Batman or Superman movies, regardless of their interest in Batman and Superman generally.

When I suggested they check out the Reeve or Keaton movies, their response is usually, "No! That's an old movie!"

God, before that, Adam West and George Reeves were the dated Batman and Superman. Furthermore, to compare Christopher Reeve's Superman with Adam West's Batman is utterly ridiculous.

But friends of mine automatically assume the film will have bad acting, cheap-looking effects and it will be boring, etc. I think they're narrow-minded. Still, even some of those people won't watch a movie as old as 1995, or even 2003.

One friend I know, and I call him a loser for this (just kidding) but he's a Star Wars fan...yes...but has he seen the original Star Wars movies?--I MEAN THE STAR WARS FILMS? ...NO! Why??? He won't watch them because they're old! To his mind, Star Wars is the "prequel" trilogy.

He left The Force Awakens at the cinema because he realized it was a sequel to the original trilogy which he never watched before, but he won't watch the original because they're old. Won't watch Indiana Jones either.

Funnily enough, when I persuaded one friend of mine to watch "The Shining", he was surprised that this "old" film actually had good acting in it. He couldn't believe it. He watched "E.T." and loved it, and "The Mask", I know that sounds random but he was opposed to watching a film from the 1990s too.

People can be pretty silly when it comes to watching anything old, especially stuff from before they were born. They talk as if it's actually impossible to go back and watch a movie that was made 20-40 years ago. Uh, cable? Satellite? Netflix and all the other streaming services? You practically have to go out of your way to avoid seeing anything from before your time because old movies and shows and all sorts of other media are more readily available than they've ever been. You don't even have to leave your house to rent movies anymore.

And I can't wrap my brain around someone being a Star Wars fan and refusing to watch the OT.

In my opinion everything has its moment. What you can not do is start a new DC universe, and end the trilogy without the music that gave shape to that universe in the first 2 movies

People had already gotten used to that music, and all the Zimmer fans were waiting to hear their music again at JL.

If I want to listen to Elfman, I'm going to see Burton's Batman, for example. Not here again in an era and in a totally different universe.

What they have done is a lack of respect. And let no one forget: if the movie triumphs, it's because of the work of Zack Snyder, not because of Wheldon.

His work has been very undervalued and belittled by criticism. But any reader of comics with good judgment, knows MoS and BvS are two
exceptional films.

Much, much better than any Marvel movie.

... You need to find new friends.

I'm kidding but I can't understand this. To close the eyes on everything that preceed us is incredibly silly and borderline insulting... (don't want to sound rude but you get the idea) I mean, it's believing that people decades ago haven't enough discernment to jauge bad acting, etc...

That being said, I know that the slow narration of certains films is hard to aprehend to nowaday audiences. I use to say that if "Once Upon a Time in the West" was made today, it length would be one hour.

It's sad that we now have access to such a great cultural catalog and that people are more and more sliding in skimpy minds...
Now, if some looks older movies and honestly dislike them and are capable of saying why, I'll understand. But when you're suggesting old music band or films to someone, there is nothing more annoying that hearing them making fun of the clothing or haircut from then and don't trying to honestly watch or listen.

Correction: better than most Marvel movies

I like those of XMen (especially Logan, it's a different movie), Iron Man 1, The Avengers 1, Winter Soldier ... is there something else? Oh yeah. Blade 1 and 2, but that was before Disney.

Do not put faces, man. Marvel makes easy movies for an easy audience. They do not take risks. Most, they bore.

For my taste, the best of Marvel are the television series. The 1st season of Daredevil is pure gold. I liked The Defenders. However Dc is boring in TV.

I look forward to seeing what's new about Punisher.

You are gonna have to tell every comics reader with good judgement that. It would come as bewildering news to them all.

Just listened to. I quite enjoyed it, my only issue is that unlike his AOU work, there's not a super strong theme to play off. His Flash and Cyborg material (which seems to be heavily based off Terminator Salvation), is engaging though. I do feel like there's a lot of "bowing" to modern scoring trends, but it didn't bother me that much.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I wish the JL's theme was a little stronger and more focused, and that the legacy themes were used more (only one brief proper usage of his Batman theme), but I think Elfman delivered the goods here. Definitely better than SS & WW's scores, and better than parts of BvS. MoS's still my favorite of the DCEU, but JL's no slouch either.

Which track has the William's Superman score in it?

Edit: Never mind. Found it. The Final Battle. If that's all, then he didn't use it how I imagined it would be. Still sweet :)

So, after listening to them all, this is my ranking of the soundtracks...

01. Man of Steel
02. Justice League
03. Suicide Squad
04. Wonder Woman
05. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Man of Steel was just majestic throughout. It fit Superman perfectly.
Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman were, kind of, a toss-up. I prefer the tone of SS.
Batman v Superman, while not a bad soundtrack, is jarring and blaring; it fits
perfectly for the film, but a good sizeable chunk of the soundtrack is a chore to listen to.

his soundtrack has litterally no impact to the film, & its not even a bad thing, because of the way the movie was edited
the fast pacing, made it that way

I never noticed a Batman theme at all in Batman v Superman. Just a lot of dark brooding tones.

I love Flash's motif, its very well fitting, even if it sounds almost identical to The Hulk theme...

Can anybody who saw the movie tell me what Cyborg's and Aquaman's motifs are in the soundtrack?
