Justice League Danny Elfman Scoring Justice League - Part 2

A friend of mine has already seen the movie and says that JL is closer to a Marvel Studios product than a film with a DC identity. Or rather, it seems a DC "Marvelized" on the fly.

I will not go see that ****.

The score was really bad. Completely forgettable, and added nothing to the movie. Sigh.

I don't know, it seems about half of people are saying its like that, and the other half very much feels it retains its identity as a DC film. There was a lot of people who said the same thing about WW. I feel WW "meets in the middle" quite effectively.

Some of the leaks I watched I felt that the score worked much better in context. Its no BVS or MOS score, or even WW for that matter though. Also, we have similar rankings for the DCEU based on your sig so I'm excited about seeing JL tonight!

Nope, feels like a DC film through and through.

Hehe hope you love it man!

For those of you complaining about Wonder Woman's theme:

What else is great?
Ben Affleck as Batman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. Also? This movie employs Danny Elfman’s Batman theme, John Williams’ Superman theme and the Wonder Woman electric guitars

That's another person that's seen the movie that says the movie has Zimmerman's score bits, another person said the MoS music is in it too.

The bits are minuscule at best. They are like some brief samplings.

Okay so the only tim there is mos music is when there is the scout ship and they play that "i have so many questions" type track.
That's it.

The Batman theme is barely audible over the sound effects, same goes for the John Williams theme. The WW theme does not appear in its original form and there are only very slight hints of MoS.

I had a feeling about just a variation of Wonder Woman's theme playing,
I really do wish Elfman's Batman theme had a more prominent feature, as
well as the theme for Superman by Williams.

So, the score. It was basically just...there. Nothing stood out to me other than the Batman motif and the
twisted version of Williams' Superman theme.

As for the MOS theme...

It's only in the scene when they're about to resurrect Clark, and very briefly at that. Whedon and Elfman can go f*** themselves for this choice.

We got cheers from our crowd when
the section of the John Williams theme played during the final fight
.

Yup. It’s like both of them were ashamed to acknowledge the music from MOS and BvS or too caught up in their own hype “my Batman theme is the only Batman theme” my ****ing ass.

Zimmer's contributions were sorely missed. I was wrong about Elfman. He really did lose his touch. :(

I did not care for the score in the movie. I wanted to hear Zimmer's themes so badly. It just felt wrong reusing those old themes.

Okay so I've listened to a few more tracks multiple times. The Final Battle sounds very much like Age of Ultron, that's already been agreed by everyone.

Despite that, some of the themes I find rather good are The JL theme (Logos Opening)...I think it sounds very heroic and a little exciting. I like the build-up, and I think it might work for the DC films opening intro.

And the "Heroes Theme" has grown on me. It doesn't sound like Marvel or The Avengers, so that's what I like about it.

Still...so that Hulk theme is being used for Flash's motif...how does he explain in an interview that he used a simple motif for The Flash...he means he used the Hulk theme for Flash...sigh.

I can't get over that.

I was fine with using the old themes, but if you're gonna use it, then ****ing USE it. Don't just throw a few notes of it in there, and not use the other established themes. Wtf Elfman. Your arrogance is unbelievable.

That's exactly why we were all "complaining/whining" (as others here put it) when he was announced. I would have loved to be proven wrong, but he did a really bad job. The score was neither here nor there.

Didn't think much of the score, but loved Flash's theme.

Because it was the only bloody theme in the whole movie. The rest was just random notes.

Was it just me, or was the film missing the Batman theme during the final battle? Wonder if it was excised on purpose or just buried in the mix under SFX. I was really looking forward to it, too.

It was there but buried under the sound effects. Same thing for the Williams theme.
