Daredevil Daredevil Official Reviews Thread

Another 5-star review

Let’s get right down to it – Daredevil is one of the best things Marvel Studios has ever created. Period. Much like the show’s title character, Daredevil is a disciplined, well-oiled machine that hits at all the right moments, but has patience to pull back and allow characters and story lines to develop organically.

Its just awesome how marvel is hitting on all cylinders, every project they have done the last couple years has been quite amazing. The 10th cant come soon enough.

A number of reviews have mentioned a crazy sequence in the 2nd episode. Apparently its an action filled tracking shot akin to old boy and true detective. Cant wait!

The only criticism I've seen so far has been Elden Henson as Foggy, but even then they say he's very likable.

The action scenes being compared to movies like Raid 1/2 and Old Boy, gets me really excited for this.

I'm loving all of this. Can't wait till they introduce "The Defenders" one day! :D

As someone who grew up reading Daredevil and was always made fun of for liking him, it's time for a big 'ol slice of humble pie (baked in Hell's Kitchen) to be served ;)

Wish people would call Faraci out on this, but whatever.

It is pretty clear certain people were ready to hate this because of their dislike for Jeph Loeb. Barring the fact that in terms of the live TV division, he's done a very good job.

Yeah, but even though a couple have cited him as a weakness, just as many, if not more, have cited him as one of the show's biggest strengths.

Yeah, I already saw someone grumbling something like, "All the rave reviews are coming from nerd sites with "superhero" or "comic" in their name." Yes, because Variety and Esquire are just niche geek sites.

Elden Henson is great on the show. People need to lighten up.

I've only seen 1 where it says he is a bit dodgy in some scenes, the other one seems to just not particularly like Foggy or Karen

And screencrush, joblo, mtv, cinemablend and these guys

Who if i'm not mistaken are the same people who didn't like GoTG or TWS, I could be wrong but the site seems familiar

I feel it is pretty clear Faraci knew what he is doing when he tweeted that out.

Holy hell, VILLAGE VOICE!? The people who even took a snooty dump on The Dark Knight!? If Daredevil have even won them over, it must be something special.

Village Voice likes this?!?

I'm pretty damn sure they gave negative reviews to Avengers and Winter Soldier

Henson is perfect in this show as Foggy. Here is a sample of his dialogue:

"If there is a stunning, beautiful woman with questionable character in the room, Matt Murdock's going to find her, and Foggy Nelson's going to suffer for it."

Also:

"You don't have the best judgment when it comes to beautiful women."

Yep

Marvel's Daredevil, on Netflix, Plods Promisingly Toward Comic-Book Glory

They say after the first couple episodes it gets really good

But a couple episodes in, when D'Onofrio first lumbers onscreen, Daredevil seized me. His Kingpin is a marvelous monster, a chromedome Sydney Greenstreet exuding such waves of power and menace that the writers can introduce him as a lovesick pup, awkwardly courting a beautiful art dealer (Ayelet Zurer) and leaving us to wonder, in horror, just when he's finally going to unleash his inner Kraken. When he does — yikes.

My take on the fighting:

Fighting on the show is very brutal, rough and tumble. However NO quick cuts. Camera lets us take everything in. And yes, in one episode there is an extended fight sequence that is all one take.

Also, this Matt Murdock never goes through any miraculous recoveries like Ben Affleck. When he is cut or wounded, the effects last throughout the series. And it takes a toll on his fighting abilities.

Fartcheese will almost certainly have a cadre of minions and suck-ups ready to post their own reviews specifically written to back up their master's opinion. Which is fine, they can be drowned out by the likes of Variety, Village Voice (!) etc just as easily as he can. I feel like I've already wasted enough time on his petty little grudges.

Love what I'm seeing so far, though I kind of wish I had avoided these since it's making the wait look even more unbearable.

What exactly has Faraci said?

Yeah it reads like a 4.5 or 5 star review, must have messed up the score or his expectations for stuff are seriously high

I assume the 2-star rating is a typo. He literally calls it the best comic-book adaptation ever made.
