DAREDEVIL REBOOT: How would you do it?

Okay, I'm sorry I can't lie, I'm a fan of affleck, fter thinking about he's in a couple of movies he liked and it wasn't him who ruined daredevil, which i can't really say was ruined because i would be lying again, I liked it, the whole thing, except for maybe elektra, hot, yes, good acting, not so much.

Yellow Daredevil is like bright blue Batman: not good to watch in movies.

that stuff just isn't good at all, it doen't make sense, that's the reason I don't like wolverine with the blue/yellow costume.

I loved the Director's cut, and I think Affleck is a great actor and his Matt Murdock was excelent...

I wouldn't reboot, and I would love a sequel...

Agreed for the most part. While I wouldn't go as far as calling Affleck great, I thought he was wonderful in the movie and would prefer a sequel to a re-start.

Yeah, how impossible you think would be to get a sequel?

I wasn't a big fan of Affleck, but I got to appreciate his work on Daredevil, and then noticed how much I underrated by me he was...

If I had to guess, I'd say that if we haven't gotten a sequel by now, we're not getting one at all.

Not much chance of a reboot or a sequel. Elektra was a sort of sequel to Daredevil and it bombed. Time to move on. We can't keep restarting, rebooting and remaking everything that doesn't do well.

Affleck said he wouldn't do a sequel so the only way to get a sequel would have to be like how they are doing the hulk and punisher films.

I'm in favor of a reboot. Not a fan of the movie at all, or Afflecks' performance. Although i'm a huge fan of Affleck's. I just don't see him as Matt, and I don't think it was because of bad direction.

As for casting a new Matt. I would love to see Sean Patrick Flanerys' take on the character. He is a completely amazing and underated actor. I've read that he practices jiu-jitsu and some mixed martial arts. So he could probably handle some real-world action. Not that wire-work playground nonsense.

In Daredevil I really liked the mask. That's about it. Scrap the rest.

In regards to a reboot shouldn't happen. I think DD is so far off anybody's radar that fans of the genre are probably the only ones who know it exsists. So if they remade it I don't think there would be too many raised eyebrows.

Originally I thought the movie was a mess.

Then I saw the Directors Cut. Anyone who hasn't should do themselves the favour of seeing it.

It's by far one of my favourite hero movies, I thought Affleck's DD was perfect, the movie was one of the most respectful to the source material.

I'm usually a big advocate for reboots, he'll I'm waiting for a Ghost Rider one, and X-Men one, and a Fantastic Four one... But what we have with DD could be built upon, and improved easily.

Only problem I see is that its been too long, apart from sequels like Rocky Balboa and the new Indiana Jones, sequels usually come out pretty close to each other... So is it too late for a sequel?

Plus didn't that pompous dick Affleck say he was humiliated to have worn a costume and never do it again?

it's never too late for a sequel, but Affleck did say he wouldn't return

Daredevil is dead, there is only a reboot. If it is ever going to be done,it should be more like the comics.

They really tried to make it like the comics, and it still wasn't good enough.

The yellow suit would look terrible onscreen. Needs to be red all the way.

Well I don't care if it looks terrible. He doesn't even have to wear it. But I'm talking about like in Spidey 1 when he was wrestling and chasing after Uncle Ben's killer. A brief look till he changes into the real deal. Something I can definitely appreciate. U can make a yellow suit look good. I'm sure there are ways that it doesn't have to come across looking hideous or like Big Bird. A quick scene is all I'm saying.

Needs to be more brutal. Thats pretty much it. You know why Jennifer Garner didnt pull of Elektra? Because she wasnt Brutal enough. You know why Ben Affleck didnt pull off DD, because he WAS'NT BRUTAL ENOUGH.

Ben Affleck and Daredevil as a movie were horrible because he moved like he only had 5 points of articulation and the story sucked.

The brutality of the hero himself had nothing to do with it. As a matter of fact, Daredevil has never been overly "brutal."

I liked the theatrical version, loved the director's cut, but I still vote for a reboot. Simply because I think Matt and Karen should have had a budding romance that was interupted by the introduction of Elektra.

Matt should have told Karen he was DD, and she should have been tormented with the fact that she worried for his life everytime he went out in his costume. I still think that Elektra should have died like she did. At the end of movie, I think Karen should have made Matt choose between being DD or being her lover. Matt - aching to avenging Elektra's death - would choose to go out for the climatic battle against the Kingpin. He fights Kingpin, wins - but doesnt expose his identity. When he goes home, Karen is gone.

That would perfectly set up "Born Again" as the ultimate sequel.

Ironically I think Affleck would probably be a great DIRECTOR for a reboot.

I don't know. I'm a little sick of the lovesick-girlfriend-choice routine in superhero movies. But it would be better than her doing nothing, which is how it is in the movie (both versions).

Here's what I'd do:
- Hire Kevin Smith and/or Frank Miller to write it (or myself =D).
- MSJ's version of the character hinted towards having increased strength. I'd retcon his origin to make it 100% clear that the liquid that entered his body gave him slight super-strength, speed, and stamina (not on level with Spider-Man, but strong enough to kick over a car or leap between buildings the way he does in the comics/film constantly) in an attempt to explain some of his feats in the films and comics.
- Cast the best actor for Daredevil regardless of whether or not he's a star.
- Bring back most of the supporting actors (Colin Farrell, Jon Favreau, etc)
- Give it an R rating (my budget would be low enough as to guarantee a profit even with an R rating).
- Use dark lighting in tandem with a bit of the bleach bypass technique resulting in a movie that is visually similar to a cross between Batman and Payback.
- No camp or scenes geared towards kids. This includes cross-gender battles in playgrounds over a name and phone number.
- I'd emphasize the duality of the Daredevil character more, instead of letting him become a poor man's Batman. He's a lawyer who's a vigilante, and a devout Catholic who beats the **** out of sinners. He should be constantly torn between what the law says and what it ends up doing and between what he believes he must do for his father and what he believes he must do for The Father.
- Much less CGI.
- More realistic fight scenes (no spinning on ceiling fans or scaling gigantic organs like he's New York's other roof-hopping vigilante).

Just a few ideas.

Good ideas, except never retcon a character origins in movies, fans will hate the s#!t out of you.

I write a first draft of a reboot of DD.
I think it's an R rating screenplay.
I put in him the Miller's ideas, the Stan Lee's ideas and the Loeb's ideas.
It's a comic-book movie.
I put in him the origins (tragedy, the Jack's death, the Stick's training), the college period (with the cammeo of Elektra Natchios) and the DD era (with Karen, Foggy and the villain Owl).
I think it would be a good screenplay.
