FANTASTIC FOUR REBOOT: How would you do it?

Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom

HATE:cmad:

It's not that I hate the guy personally, or even really his acting. It wasn't really his fault that he was cast, or the role was so poorly written. But now, everytime I see him.....HATE!!!

I think this is a franchise that could do with a reboot.
It seems to me that the studios took a film, and characters, that could have had a grand, awe inspiring, nestalgic, and epic space adventure feel,
and made it into a TRL movie.

I think they could redo it with diferent, better fitting actors, better plot, and better everything. It was like Daredevil, too many bad things bringing the film down.
As entertaining as it was.

One thing I would do, and I can't beliave they don't do this more,
is have the Thing be a comination of live action, CG, and trick photography.
They can use the same techniques that LOTR did on their characters. Make Thing look bigger than the others, use CG to make his ruber suit look better.

Anyway, this franchise should someday be redone. But I don't think they will anytime soon.

Dr. Doom should NEVER be seen without the mask, except maybe in flashbacks.

My choices for new REBOOTED cast

Reed - Ethan Hawke
Sue - Scarlett Johansson or Charlize Theron (maybe too old now)
Johnny - Zac Efron
Thing - voice by Vin Diesel

Doom - Clive Owen

Theres a whole lotta bad up in there.

When it came to casting, I thought that the FF did a fairly good job. The only two that I really had a problem with were Alba and McMahon. Rachel McAdams should've been cast as Sue, and my biggest problem with McMahon was that he didn't convey the presence Dr. Doom should.

And while I didn't have a problem with Gruffud, Alexis Dresinof seems like he would be a good choice for Reed. Didn't he audition for the role before the first film?

DD was much more faithful to the comics, it had a superior script and the director actually knew the characters inside and out. FF didn't even have that much IMO.

I do agree it had to many things working against it.

As entertaining as it was.

I'm glad you liked it.

Rachel McAdams was my pick when the rumor mill was flying.

And Ioan Gruffudd looks the part of Reed, but his American accent is awful.

which choices don't you like ?

Ethan Hawk, Zac Efron and Vin Diesel. I'm just really not feeling them. Efron in particular. Johnny needs to be the most energetic in the group, not stiff as a board...

Clive Owen and Scarlett Johansson/Charlize Theron are fine, though I'd like Theron more so than Scarlett.

I still understand why she didn't get the role when its pretty obvious that she was more suited for it than Alba.

But the idea of Clive Owen as Dr. Doom has grown on me.

Well Zac I chose because he's considered the "hottest and most popular" with teens and young girls, and I think that’s just what Johnny is, a teen heartthrob that girls wanta throw themselves at. I've never seen Zac in anything to my knowledge just his face all over magazines and on the net, so maybe I shouldn’t vouch for his acting talent, just the guy looks the part IMO.

Diesel I chose just for his deep gravely voice, They can use whoever they want for the body work, but before he became famous the 1st time I head Diesel speak I though his voice would make for a stellar Ben Grimm.

And Ethan Hawke is who I have the most confidence in, I think the dude was born to play Reed Richards, Hawke is a very diverse actor, casting him would be in the same vein as RDJ or Bale, a great actor bringing true talent and respect to an important role, just look at a couple of the movies he’s been in since the new millennium.

-Before the Devil knows your Dead
-Lord of War
-Training Day
-Tape

Now look at this pic of him and imagine a little white in his sideburns, he’s perfect.
