Why does the poll show I can vote if it's closed?

I hope for a better DareDevil movie, I bet it could surpass Nolan's movies or become an equal, only if people didn't look at it as a rip-off with Stick and the Hand

People look at everything as a rip off. I only bring up Stick because I felt that the 2003 DD didn't really explain where Daredevil gained his martial arts skills sufficiently.

What should the Daredevil costume look like? I liked the movie DD costume, but I know a lot of people didn't.

I think the suit used in the movie looked perfect
Maybe they should make the cowl look more like it does in comics?

yeah i liked the movie costume too. I had no complaints about it really

Agreed. The only real annoyance was that the mask wasn't secure. At all. It kinda became annoying how often someone would take his mask off. For a reboot, I think that, if we're going to use a new design, then emphasize the "DD" symbol more. Center it and enlarge it.
One of the difficulties about adapting Daredevil on film that Batman doesn't have is the material of the costume. If you screw up the material, the costume can look silly. Batman can wear hard body armor because Bruce Wayne is rich, but Daredevil can't because Matt Murdock is poor.

The DD symbol was too understated. It needs to be a big chest shield logo.

The mask needs to be a mask/cowl and not a dinky helmet.

I can agree with the thing about the DD symbol.

The mask was not a helmet. It provides no real protection, and it's not as securely in place as a helmet is. That said, it needs to either to be made in to a cowl or have a chinstrap or something, because it is simply too easily removed.

Suit in the movie was great. I don't want it to be skin tight costume. this wouldn't look good

As improved as the DC was, if I recall even that version featured the playground fight scene (Huurp - I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit)

That playground scene.........my God.......

It also included Michael Clark Duncan as the kingpen (heck, why don't we make Matt Murdock an athletic black guy).

It also still had Elektra in the film.

It also still had poorly choreographed fight scenes.

It also still didn't have STICK in the movie to train the young Matt Murdock.

Man, if anything the Director's Cut gets too much praise for being much better than the original. Sure, it's edited better. But it's still like spraying perfume on a piece of bleep. The piece of bleep will smell better than it did before, but it'll still smell like bleep.

You're ok with them throwing Daredevil's agility out the window?

.....

Actually, the costume might be the most difficult part to come up with for this film. It will dictate how Daredevil's traversal is filmed, how the fight scenes will come across on camera, how much CGI will be needed to pull off some of Daredevil's acrobatics.

I think people forget that Daredevil isn't a lot less agile than Spiderman. Another problem I had with Ben in the original flick was how stiff he looked in the costume. JG, as Elektra on the otherhand, flowed much better. She looked more like a dancer than Ben did.

****, is it 2003 AGAIN?

No seriously dude, these days people are *****ing because Heimdall is black. You gotta stay with us here.

LMAO!!! I agree with you 100%. I had no problems with Duncan being the Kingpin. I felt he really stayed true to the character. Really the only thing the first film didn't show us was Kingpin's genious.

He just seemed like a rich guy who knew how to fight.

Thought MCD was a good fit for Kingpin myself - if anyone disagrees they could perhaps go back to 2003 and try finding me a credible actor with the physical attributes needed for that role who wouldve been a better choice maybe.

What was wrong with Michael Clark Duncan as Kingpin?

I agree Elektra should have just been left out.

I disagree about the fight scenes. They were well choreographed and bone crunching. It didn't feature stunt actors overselling being hit like in Nolan's Bat movies. They were well edited and coherant. And overall they were just more fun to look at. Bullseye and Elektra's fight was great, where he was using his coat as some kind of matador? Brilliant.

Although yea... the playground fight scene. Ehhhh...

I like the directors cut, a lot. It really captured the pain that Murdock feels. It showed the contrast between Matt Murdock the Lawyer and Daredevil the vigilante well. Joe Pantoliano was great, as always. Bullseye was gleefully violent, as he should be. The atmosphere of the film was very noir-ish, something which i think the much lauded Nolan Bat movies fail at.

My only real complaints are Elektra being involved, which leads to my other only real complaint, the playgroud fight scene.

I still don't understand what people didn't like about the 2003 film's costume. It felt true to the comics, but adapted on film to look realsitic.

The 2003 costume was dang near perfect. Infact, the fight in the bar was the perfect example of a Daredevil film...it's just that the rest of the film fell a bit short.

liked withmicheal clark dunce ithought he did goodjob as the king pin i alsoways wonted john good man for king pin. he looks alsmost like kingpin form the comic books.

That scene was probably my favourite in the whole movie, I didnt hate it like most people did actually quite enjoyed it. But a reboot is needed, the costume was fine but for the sake of there being a difference in properties I'd rather them change it. His dark red costume in the Spider-Man TAS was pretty cool, maybe something on those lines.

Yeah I definitely have no complaints when it comes to the costume.

Don't know why I didn't think of this guy before.

Cam Gigandet

  • Half way decent actor.
  • Can definitely pull off BELEIVABLE fight scenes.
  • Can look the part.
  • Is young enough to be used in multiple sequels if the series is good.
