Dark Phoenix Dark Phoenix postive thread

Non-summer release date
Waiting til effects are done before releasing a teaser/trailer
Longer post production

While I'm a little disappointed that John Ottman won't be returning, I'm excited to hear what Hans Zimmer will come up with. This franchise was due for some new (and talented) blood in the music department. That's one thing this film will definitely have over Deadpool 2 or New Mutants, a good score.

I'm always excited for Zimmer.

I'm always excited to hear new new stuff from him, but sometimes he doesn't quite deliver. I've only enjoyed 5 of his last 15 scores. For someone who works on as many projects as he does (with varying amounts of additional composers) that's bound to happen, though.

Hopefully since he'll be scoring less films this year (Dark Phoenix is the only one scheduled so far) he'll be able to divert more attention and energy to it, and make it something truly memorable.

1- We know production went smoothly due to Kinberg's experience in producing. He didn't go into this unprepared. There was nothing to disrupt production like the past x-men films.

2- We know the cast got along well with Kinberg.

3- So far I liked all the first-look photos and concept art on how Kinberg envisions the effects and the look of the film. Much better than Apocalypse. More time is spent on VFX.

4- Kinberg surrounded himself with a great production team.

5- Kinberg is changing the franchise to a gritter tone which he stated to "focus more on the characters and give them real emotions to play with".

6- Kinberg's script is based directly on Chris Claremont and John Byrne's Dark Phoenix Saga rather than a story treatment written by someone else like the previous films had.
