Darthphere Presents: Chivalry is Dead. So what?

I dont open doors and pay for dates because she is a woman...I do it because she is 'my woman' or at least auditioning for the role.
I feel that there are a lot of a-holes in the world....everyday its becoming more and more acceptable to be a *****e.
I am nice because it sets me apart from the herd.

So I recently heard some girl say she'd like to think that chivalry isn't dead, and she likes it when the man will open the door and just treat a woman like they should be treated, even though she is independent and will work hard for what she wants.

That made me wonder, is chivalry supposed to be an example of the way that woman should be treated? Or is it just an example of an old-fashioned idea of how they were treated by in the day?
