David Goyer hired to write Man of Steel

This is too funny. Just a month ago some people were saying how inefficient WB was in regards to the handling of Superman (DC characters in general) and how there wouldn't be another Superman movie in 10-20 years. Now look...

There is still plenty of time for this to completely implode on itself. Not saying it will, but it's far too early to declare smooth sailing.

don't joke around goyer being the director, excel. pleeeeeaazzzee

To be fair I believe Showtime said something to the effect that either it would be a long time before we hear anything or it would be tomorrow. I don't think even WB and DC knew it would be like this initially.

Sure, but just like Abrams writing Superman, Ratner continually insisting that he's directing, and Tim Burton pretty much being ready to film, this can all go away in a flash.

This is great news.

I've always wanted them to remove "Superman" from the title... and just call it "The Man of Steel"

Superman generally has negative connotations with todays general audience but this reinvention could change things.

No "Superman" just "man of steel"...
A little like no "Batman" just "The dark knight"....

Goyer Superman.. Goyer dark knight..
Nolan rumoured Superman.. Nolan Batman....

good times people.. Good times :)

Very true. I hope this is the start of something good.

The leak from Finke from two weeks or so back was obviously done on purpose. This one? Not so much. Thus we immediately got two rebuttal articles (proven false by the trades confirming it) and WB on LR's ass.

All these tidbits on the movie sound sweet! This could end up great.

Lets cross that bridge if we get there.:cwink:

LOL @ W.B. panicing; we know the script is done and Goyer is directing, just know it better be good!

hopefully things wont implode on wb/dc. Since we know with all the legal stuff they do pretty much have a fixed time for things to happen. Or they are up the creek and have to pay the heirs. Though it probably wouldnt matter either way. The families will probably still make a buck off the film.

more twitters from Latino Review's El May

The WB to @latinoreview "We work with you & we demand to know! You tell us who the source of the leak is!"

Could this **** hurt the project?

By that do you mean that you think the movie won't follow through because of WB being pissed off?

For everyones sake I hope it doesn't implode and everything keeps developing for the better.

Nolan mentoring, Goyer writing and having the Byrne/STAS as a guideline is a plus. The only failure here that could happen is WB suits slipping on false ice made by their own legal problems and start pressuring Nolan and others involved in production to hurry.

Even Nolan who brought them TDK can get pressured by WB if they feel they might possibly lose a character/franchise that has potential to bring in cash.

Although from everything I've seen so far WB has made a pretty concise plan which is solid so far.

LMAO why are they so worried about it? I would think they would only be afraid of a bad leak. This is a good leak. It's not like the movie itself was leaked.

Probably because they wanted this to come from them directly or released in the trades. Needless to say, something tells me they wouldn't be upset if it wasn't true.

And the next info is either Jonathan Nolan's or Wally Pfister's directorial debuts...:o
