Day of the Dead (Remake)

Gotta love Starship Troopers. If you can't have fun watching that movie...you're dead.

No one wears those cammies anymore, except the Air Force(and VERY FEW Army reserve units), and I knew they weren't Air Force because their rank insignia wasn't on their sleeve.

It's sloppy and careless.

^ It's a freaking Zombie movie with no budget. Like 1% of the people on the planet will care about that. It's not gonna make the movie bad or good. The story and acting is more important than that. It's not like: "I'm not gonna see that movie because his rank it's Militarily incorrect." :)

What's sad is that better research makes for better stories :(

Yeah but how do you know where they got the Uniforms or why they're wearing them. Maybe it's a makeshift unit of non-military people who raided a surplus store.

There's no excuse for sloppy research any writer will tell you that... If you write a story, it's your job by the very nature of the word "author" to be an authority on the subject... Poor research leads to cliche plots since your basically jsut referencing everything off what you've seen in movies.

I agree though whenever a movie is made proper research and attention should be paid unless it's AN ARTISTIC move not to, and not simple laziness. For example if you're making a western in a time-period that didn't really exist, or do something that didn't really happen but you've set it up so that it make sense in that world then that's cool, but if it simply based on poor research... then that sucks...

I admire your mindless defense of an obviously bad film.

Little things like that is what takes people out of a film. And I think it'll be more than 1%.:whatever:

Blind justification, too? You're on a roll.

Movies, you and I should talk more often.

I don't think the writer had anything to do with the Uniforms they picked out for the movie. Also when does the movie take place??? What year? Of course directors and writers should do research but it's hard to complain about stuff like that with these little films. I'm also not really defending it because it could be God awful or great. I have no idea. It's just that the uniforms and rank wouldn't take a measurable % of people out of the film. It's a small detail I wouldn't expect this type of film to even care about. Clearly some people do.

Why wouldn't it?

According to the sypnopsis I read, the military plays a big role in it, so naturally, they should get their ****ing facts straight.

As for the time period argument...now you're just rationalizing.

Eh. That's just how I am. I don't really take offense to something I know is the truth.

Small details make a film. As for the writer, if your writing a scene and you want show a person rank. It's a lot better to show it through the uniform because dialouge takes more time which leads to boring exposition, so most likely a decent writer would look up the uniforms, and then write a description in the script.

Judging by the one or two reviews out there...the out dated marines uniforms are the least of it's problems.

For the whole uniform whatever thing, when is this movie supposed to be taking place anyway?
I mean I remember the Dawn of the Dead remake was supposed to be in modern times, but I could see it being set in the late 90's also

Oh, I'm sure of it, it's just a pet peeve of mine.

Why the **** would they do that? That's such a weak rationalization.

This is Day of the Dead. I'm moving on.

Some good news, no, it's not being burned and never released.

In this case it was Arrow in the Head, who got word from Dead redux scribe Jeffrey Reddick that the film is still in a holding pattern, with some reshoots planned to go down very soon. Could that be in reaction to the first reviews that started showing up, which we told you about back here? Perhaps...

Well, at least someone high up in the production is listening to the negative buzz after the test screening(s).

It's not even a theatrical trailer. LOL You've seen nothing to form an opinion of this as a movie yet. And thank God it looks nothing like the original cause the original was a piece of crap on film compared to Dawn, Night, and hell even Return of the Living Dead 2 was better than the original Day of the Dead.

The original was a piece of crap??? I suppose you think this ****ee remake with mena suvari and nick crack face cannon is great??

What are you? an MTV reality lover? Or one of those sad individuals who jerks off at crap remakes of the superior originals?

you must have sad life if you think Dawn of the dead 04 was a good movie. (Ripping off 28 Days later)

Zombies don't run. Thats a fact.:oldrazz:

And Dawn of the Dead 04 was a crap movie. Thats a fact too.

MTV reality lovers , please grow up, otherwise Dario Argento will shove a cucumber up your anal rectum sideways with extended pleasure

:yay: :yay:

Victor Salva needs to abuse Nick Cannon, then the movie might be a success.

LOL

Zombies do run though you see. They run in 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, and the Dawn of the Dead remake. Since Zombies only exist in movies, books, TV, etc, this makes it fact. Does it really make sense since they are dead and their supposed to be stiff? No. But is it scarier and will sell more tickets? Yes.

Zombies that can run are uncool. Very uncool. Scary? Yes. Pain in the ass to fight? Yes.

Day of the Dead doing reshoots now. No release date set yet. I'll find out more later. :)
