Mira Sorvino & Ving Rhames to star in "Day Of The Dead Remake".

I loved Dawn 2004. I'd go as far to say it' s one of my favourite movies of all time. If this can turn out anywhere near as good, or as good as the original (my fav of Romero's original trilogy) I will be more than happy.

I doubt Rhymes will be the same character. It's probably just an homage to the fact he was in Dawn

They got the name wrong,it's not Mira Sorvino,it's Mena Suvari who will be in the movie. The two names sound alike, that's how they confused the two.

HOLY!!!!!
THAT MAKES ME WANNA SEE IT MORE!!!

Who knows, they will eventually be remaking Night Of The Living Dead yet again so all the movies will be updated. The original order of the movies was Night, Dawn, & Day, but since the remakes started with Dawn, then Day, now Night Of The Living Dead should be the next that follows.

They also have a colored version of the original NotLD. I own it.

I enjoyed the remake too. How ironic its come full circle with remakes.

No, they already made it, in 3D , it's coming out soon.
Nice that it says, "George A. Romero is not in any way affiliated with this film."

Thank god. I just read what imdb says the NotLD3D story is about.

In this 3D chiller, Barb and her brother Johnny arrive late for the burial of their aunt -- and walk straight into a nightmare. With zombies on her heels, Barb flees the cemetery and is rescued by Ben, a local college student. The two seek refuge in the nearby farmhouse of the Cooper family, where the laid-back residents aren't remotely prepared to have their lives turn into a horror movie. But Barb is destined for an even grimmer confrontation -- with the pyrophobic mortician, Gerald Tovar, Jr.

I know imdb is very unreliable with upcoming movies though.

the mortician is scared of fire? lol

They should have him swimming above this

I dunno guys, saying "people shouldn't give into zombie purists" is like saying "You know what, screw comic book fans. In the next Batman movie lets put nipples on the suit again and have Bruce's father alive and well living in the Batcave...which is really just a basement with a shower in it." You know, I don't even care IF zombies run, in Return of the Living Dead zombies run..you name it, they do it. I honestly wouldn't have had as big of a problem with the Dawn remake if it's name wasn't "Dawn of the Dead." If it was called "Nightmare of the Dead" or "The Dead Walk (or run in this case)" I wouldn't have cared much...I still would have thought it was a "poor" zombie story...and a rip off, but I wouldn't out right hate it like I do now.

I know that may not make sense to people, but Dawn of the Dead is the BEST zombie movie...ever. IMHO as small of a film as it is...it's still epic. Shaun of the Dead is the best recent zombie film, funny or not they still got the "zombie" part right.

And NotlD 3D is awful, just awful. I wish, in some way, Georgy boy could sue the pants off of people who touch even the NAME of his films. The ONLY Romero remake worthy of standing alongside Georges works is Savini's NOTLD 1990.

On a side note, have you guys ever watched Undead? At first I thought it was....a bit dumb, upon second viewing I REALLY liked it. It's a great nod to Romero's films as well as Evil Dead, more so since the zombie aliens scream "Joooooin Uuuuus!"

I didn't understand what you were trying to say with your first paragraph.

I agree the original Dawn is one of the best zombie movies ever.(It' comes after the original Night for me)

I'm not gonna entirely judge the 3D one till I see it.

Haven't seen undead but I absolutely hate the idea of zombie movies where the zombie can actually talk; Grunting and moaning are okay with me. I think that was the dumbest thing to ever happen to zombies in movies.

Ha, I sortof knew someone might not get me. What I was saying can pretty much be summed up in "Dawn remake shat all over the name of the original Dawn of the Dead."

As for Undead, they're not really zombies....you'd have to watch it to find out. Zombies talk in Return of the Living Dead "Brrrraaaaaaiiiins!" I'm fine with that because I know their not serious zombie movies.

I mean, the same two guys (James Karen and Thom Mathews) are in the first two as differentc characters, lol.

I agree but they said during the making it wasn't supposed to be a true remake so I let it slide. The original has much more respect from me than the remake.

I like the Return movies(the first 3) for when I just want a funny gory zombie movie. I didn't care if they talked

I can't wait!

Starring Ving Rhames as a tough guy cop with a heart of gold.

That was originally going to be the Night of the ******ed Cyber Cheetah People, wasn't it? You made the right choice.

I freaking loved DOTD remake. It had amazingly entertaining moments. I just don't even, personally, think of it as an actual "remake".
If you saw that show when you were a kid, you'd've loved it. Just forget about the title.
Running zombies don't entertain me as much as innumerable hordes of slow moving zombies ('cause I like the dynamic, how you know, you can outrun them, but there're so MANY.).

In my world, Dawn of the Dead is so monolithic that nothing can "s*** all over it". So you can just enjoy the ferkin'-wHAY better effects in a mall setting.*shrug*

That's always intrigued me as Return of the Living Dead is one of my top 10 favorite films, but I never got around to watching 2.

Does it suck, I mean on it's own? (there's no way it could compare to ROTLD)

I've read good and bad reviews.

If you liked the first one I'm pretty sure you'll like the second one.

You forgot..."a gruff exterior, but a heart of gold." :)

the term "tough guy" isn't enough, 'cause look at the DOTD remake...in that, the Circuit City salesman ended up being "tough". It's gotta be "Gruff Exterior". lol.

Yeah, I had to click back on and remind myself of whether this was the DayOTD thread or the non-existent NOTLDin3D thread, 'cause I'm getting drunk.

Thanks for confirming my choice,

I really liked Land of the dead too. I like pretty much most zombie movies (including the resident evils). But I thought Undead was terrible. Im not a huge fan of the comedy zombie movies. I used to love braindead when i was younger, and evil dead, but now I cant even watch them they are so bad.
