Day of the Dead (Remake)

You're kidding...:whatever: You do realize Dawn of the Dead 1978 is critically considered one of the single best horror films ever made. It has a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes (hell Departed doesn't even have that) and a 7.8/10 on IMDb. Plus between NOTLD and DOTD, Dawn is considered the best of the three.

If you have not seen any of these movies, just stop, because it's fairly obvious until Romero's film slate was told to you, you had no idea who he was.

One of the best horror films ever made? lol. You're more likely to laugh than be scared watching DOTD. NOTLD was the only true horror flick out of the 3 films that came out.

He gets credit for creating the sub genre and a great horror flick in NOTLD but that in no way means he's somehow got the edge over anyone else in hollywood when it comes to making zombie flicks. It's not even like the sequels were that great. I can see why Dawn was a cult favorite but both Dawn and Day of the Dead were awful horror films.

While I disagree Dawn and Day are awful, I do agree that just because a film or film maker influenced or created a genre it doesn't mean his films won't be bettered.

That said, the man deserves a lot of respect for pioneering and influencing a whole genre (though the monsterous, undead monsters that romero made famous was more or less started in Lovecraft's reanimator story).

Put it this way it's the best film in it's genre IMO. It wasn't as horrifying as Night of...but it was way more entertaining. I think that's the kind of energy that was missing from the original Day of.

...You really have never seen any of the others, because all his films are satires:whatever: in addition to being horror films. NOTLD was probably the least scary too considering it was made with almost no money.

Furthermore, I think for some reason you've only seen the Dawn remake. At least you've said nothing to prove you've encountered any of Romero's work, even Night. But Dawn 1978 probably has one of the best single scripts ever attached to a horror film. It is a brillant character piece and brillant in it's realistic portrayal of the situation.

Unlike the Grudge which just flashes something scary, Dawn sticks with you.

NOTLD the least scary and a satire? It's ironic that you would question whether I'm the one who hasn't any of these films. That's like saying Evil Dead was the least scary of the Evil Dead trilogy. Satires of horror films are not true horror films otherwise one could just as easily classify Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the same category as Halloween. As for the lack of a budget for NOTLD I don't see how this is the least bit relevant considering how the film was shot and the era it was shot in. You're just grasping at straws here.

I see. I wasn't aware that I was required to quote lines from each film to qualify as having seen them.

Yeah the zombie getting scalped by the helicopter really stuck with me. I'm shivering just thinking about it. :whatever:

You can't argue personal opinions on taste...you can just state them. Let's play nice now. He he he.

They're churning these things out like a mutha****er, aren't they? The zombie genre will never get old.

It says server no avaibale when you click on thelink for the trailer. Iguess it wasn't suppose to be on or either it crashed from too many hits.

I love Day of The Dead. Don't know about the remake.

The trailer is still there. I clicked on the link and it takes you to the page then on the bottom left side there's a link for your viewing options. Only one option quicktime 300k. Works 100% fine.
