i HATTTEEDDD JADEN SMITH!

even though the whole point was for him to be a jackass(the average "destructive" human)...and at the end show keanu that he could change.

but still i hated him

theres been a misperception by people saying its a "save the environment" message at the end ...but its NOT. not once does klaatu mention the environment.. rather he says the we are a simply destructive race, which means a number of things. not to mention the movie highlighting on all of the violence of today on the news and all.

instead of the biblical jesus paralels of the original this one decided to adopt the moses/arc

my favorite jennifer conelly role by far... i usually find her annoying or meh'
solid movie though, some of the ideas were pretty clever.

7.5 out of 10..jaden smith hurt it very much

Anyone else wanna punch out Jaden Smith half way through the movie? Jeez.

I hear you, brother. I hated every second of him on screen, from the looks to the attitude. And as I pointed earlier, the in-jokes of his dead "dad", ahemwillsmithahem "kicking the aliens butt back to space", were awful, as was his ungrateful, *****ing manner throughout the movie.

He made Jake Lloyd's Anakin, the kid from "Superman Returns" and Dakota Fanning in "War of the Worlds" seem like example kids.

Yeah I actually yelled out shut the F up while watching it. For the movie overall I liked it. It's flawed as hell and there were some ideas I had that I think could of have been done or maybe should have been done, and this may be the first of these movies were I wanted
the human race to be wiped out, because for the exception of Connelly, everyone was annoying and acted like fools
I liked Keanu as Klaatu though, but I'm one of the few who likes Keanu in almost anything so there you go.

THe original is in my top 5 all time favorite movies. I'm looking forward to this one.

dakota fanning wasnt annoying... its just one or two times where she yells a deafening screech

6-6.5/10

My low expectations really made the movie more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Although I didn't hate Jaden Smith's character (He's supposed to be a bad kid, BTW, I hope you guys noticed this), I think his attitude was pushed a little bit too much to the point where they almost wasted him. They made him feel way too 2-dimensional by the end so that when he was dying, you didn't really feel bad for him or Helen.

So how the hell was the Wolverine trailer? That is all I care about.
It was awesome? I saw it five times tonight.

I went inside two soundstages at my theater tonight. Both had these trailers:

-Star Trek
-Fast & Furious
-Terminator Salvation (#2)
-Taken
-Wolverine

One had Race to Witch Mountain and the other had a 25 second Spirit spot.

-TNC

I also thought there wasnt enough gort and hated the little killer insects.

Yeah, I hated Jaden Smith. I had to cover my ears when he screamed and his voice cracked. Same with Gort, too. My favorite scene was when [BLACKOUT]he escaped[/BLACKOUT]. I hated the robotic(?) insects too. It would have been okay for one scene[BLACKOUT](with the unlucky scientist), [/BLACKOUT]but after they made it out of the desert base, they should've transformed back into Gort.

I loved Keanu though... he did an EXCELLENT job in this. He LOOKED alien, moved alien, hardly blinked, tilted his head oddly. Great job really. The role that weirdo was born to play

especially in the scene where he picks up and drinks the glass of water

Just back from watching this movie. Very nice imo. Interesting idea and definitely give me a lot of things to think about

8/10

And I agree that the kid is damn annoying

enjoyed the movie, no idea why its getting trashed. the kid is annoying but that's the point.

Dude you gotta see it for yourself.
Hugh Jackman has been hitting the weights.

I'm disappointed with Wolverine's childhood back story, I don't think that they are going to show him being raised by Wolverines.

Jason (the kid in SR) is one of the most adorable kids on a film. He was portrayed as a normal and real life child. You just can't compare him with the others, imo.

:wow: WHOA!!! the SR Task Force is still active?
Damn! I thought you folks disbanded already.?

The kids are always annoying in this types on film. It's never the actors fault.

For the first time in my life... I saw a promo in a paper ad advertising a TRAILER attached to the film... never in my life have I seen that in a newspaper ads... or ANYWHERE for that matter... that's how low Fox has gotten. I may wait for Wolverine on DVD... so sad...

How can Logan look more buff in the prequel than in the X-men movies....did he lose muscles? lol....Plus...how are they gonna explain Sabertooth looking totally different and the fact that Professor X knew Logan when he was with Weapon X....

The film made only 12.2million on friday with a budget rumoured to be 80-100million. At this rate it will make somewhere in the range of 30-36million for the weekend and most likely have a final gross less than 100million. So much for Rothman's prediction about this movie being a bit hit for Fox.

Since Fox has no other films with blockbuster potential coming out in 2008 the lackluster boxoffice gross of this film will validate Fox's recognition as being the only major studio with one film to made over 100million in the US.

I have a pretty high tolerance for annoying kids but there is no way you can pile in the kid from Superman Returns with Jacob here or li'l Ani Skywalker.

WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS FOX'S OBSESSION WITH MONSTER CLOUDS!? STOP IT, FOX! JUST STOP IT! I MANAGED TO SHRUG OFF THE GALACTUS DEBACLE BUT GORT!? F*#KING GORT!? ARE YOU GONNA EVENTUALLY TURN FRIEZA, APOCALYPSE AND THE F*#KING CHIPETTES INTO CLOUDS TOO!? JESUS!!!

Just saw this. Not a bad flick at all. Not a piece of **** film all the critics make it out to be but it's certainly has some flaws. John Cleese = God. But yeah, this movie was pretty good. Had some nice trailers attached, too.

Terminator Salvation
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Spirit
Race to Witch Mountain
Wolverine

This wasn't a spectacular movie, but an enjoyable movie from beginning to end. I thought all the actors did well in their roles. And I agree with Dew, Keanu looked alien and acted alien.

yeah, flick was good, not bad, not great, but solid. Agreed, the child actor should be eliminated. But all in all, much more enjoyable than I expected. It has something to do with JC. She's just always pleasant to watch, as an actress and as a hottie.

Not a bad movie. Not a great one, but not bad. About what the original one was, with better special effects. Jaden Smith's not a very good actor. Having a cute kid "say things" is not acting. Ah well.

Keaunu was good, but he had less to work with than the original film. Jennifer Connelly is never bad. Kathy Bates was miscast as the Secretary of Defense. Cleese was ok as Barnhart. The film included all the key elements it should have. The "Ark" element was interesting, and it was strange to see Klaatu stop electricity at the end of the movie instead of the beginning. The twist where Gort became the method of Earth's destruction was...interesting. Effects were decent, the "scale" felt real enough...worth a watch, but nothing brilliant. The themes were kind of thin. Didn't care for a second about "people changing", didn't buy Jaden Smith breaking down as humanity changing. I do think this movie had an environmental theme more than anything else.

Really? There was an add in the newspaper for the trailer for The Polar Express back when HP POA came out.
