so.....how does DOFP affect the events of X1 and X2??

are we to assume that the events of those films have been altered in some way, as well??

for example, after DOFP, somehow I don't see Mystique teaming up with Magneto the way she did in X1 and X2.........

X1 still likely happened considering Rogue and Wolverine are there. Mystique's role though could have been different.

X2 though might not have happened especially if we learn she killed stryker and replaced him in dofp.

If stryker was killed, X2 never happened, jean never died so she never became phoenix and never killed cyclops or xavier. So much of X3 never happened

We will learn more in Apocalypse I imagine.

In interview Simon Linberg talked about what DOFP does to timeline of other films
http://collider.com/x-men-days-of-future-past-ending-explained/

In short they can pick and choose what other films and elements from those films they are part of "Timeline"

Donner has already said you can now forget about Last Stand and Origins.

Kinberg has talked about moving characters closer to status quo of X1+Beast closer to Kelsey Garmmer portrayal.

With Much of original cast in ending of DOFP and some will return for Apocalypse this means whoever is cast as Cyclops,Jean, and Storm have to be able to eventully seen as becoming james Marsden,Famke Janssen, and Halle Berry.

Still since it's doudtful any time travel will be In Apocalypse the OT actors In Apocalypse with exception of Hugh jackman will likely be cameos and wolverine's role In 1980's could be similar to wolverine's role In Twelve storyline getting adamanturm from Apocalypse and being brainwashed. That could open the ere of Xavier trying to free wolverine from Apocalypse's brainwashing.

Calling Apocalypse a Inbetweenequel Is making more sense now.And Donner and others comments about another film with OT cast possable may not have been lies or misleading comments.

The Casting of those 3 will be crucal [Cyclops, Jean and Storm] for apocalypse boy can't wait for that movie already :oldrazz:

and Im so intrigued by
Mystique getting logan out of that water

Promos not done yet. Hugh attended the Japanese premiere. He tweeted his first-class ticket from the plane over the weekend, I swear the man IS a mutant with all the traveling he's done to promote this!

Hugh Jackman signed autographs for Japanese fans and appeared on stage during an event before the Japanese premiere of his latest movie X-Men: Days of Future Past in Tokyo on May 27, 2014.
You can find 54 HQ photos of Hugh Jackman in our gallery.

I have a question about the movie. Why is it that if Trask was killed that is what would trigger the government wanting to start this Sentinel program? What I mean is one of the government guys said something like "these mutants have been living amongst us and they seem to keep to themselves"

Wouldn't the major threat that was shown in cuba or even the death of the president (Magneto was in prison for killing JFK) cause the government to be like "one mutant killed our president! we can't let this happen again!" But no they didn't seem to care, but for some reason the death of a c.e.o of a defense company would be the big thing that would get the government involved?

Any thoughts on that?

Killing Trask would provide the necessary impetus to fund the Sentinel project. As a by-product, they [blackout]capture Mystique, so they have a clear direction for the project[/blackout]

I still haven't seen it.:O

But they already had sentinels (the purple ones). Wouldn't JFK's death been more then enough reason for Trask to get the ok to go ahead with the program? Even if Trask didn't mention it when JFK died, at any point when he's presenting his case wouldn't he just have to bring up that fact and then get the ok?

You are missing a big point.
JFK was a mutant. The implication i got was the government assassinated him when they found out. Then arrested Magneto for trying to stop it.

ohhh. I caught he was a mutant but I thought it just so happen there was an attempt to assassinate him just cause he's president and because magneto found out he's a mutant he tried to save him.

But what you said makes a lot more sense. If the government found out he was a mutant then they wanted him dead. Well even that might be considered a threat. A mutant somehow got into position to be the leader of the whole government.

At the moment I still have the OT as mostly canon, in that the events happened but they happened differently, however as the franchise continues I see that becoming less and less. For instance if Jean & Scott and Ororu meet Wolverine e in the eighties then that nullifies X-Men moreso.

I really think they are trying to have both ways to appeal to both those who want FC to be reboot and those who want trilogy or at very least X-Men and X2 to still matter.

The fact some OT cast will appear In Apocalypse Is a total pandering to fans of trilogy. As Is Kinberg's comments of Apocalypse set Inbetween DOFP and X-men and that Xavier,Magneto,Mystique, and Beast will be moving closer to Trilogy Stats quo.

The ending of DOFP means Storm,Cyclops, and jean still become halle Berry,James Marsden, and Famke Janssen.Rogue,Iceman,Kitty, and Colossus can't be used in films from now on inless they are among OT actors In 2023 scenes of APocalypse or there is another film with solely OT cast.

My minority view here Is if nothing we have seen with OT cast happened the way audences saw them then seeing cast again at end of DOFP doesn't really
mean that much If Only FC and 1973 parts of DOFP matter.Except for Patrcik stewert and Kelsey Grammer as older versions of James Mcavoy and Nicholas Hoult the rest are basicly strangers In series now.

I see it winning next weekend with the word of mouth it's getting

Comingsoon.net predicts a Box Office win for Maleficent.

Maleficent might be tough competition, it is the almighty Disney, and she's a popular character played by the popular angelina

I see it winning next weekend with the word of mouth it's getting

If you mean Maleficent it's still strange if it has great word of mouth why 3 days
before it premieres not a single review.

I have seen pics of Angelana Jolie and Elle Fanning promating it but no reviews yet.

If 3 days before release there still were no reviews for DOFP some would say
something Is up.

I like the combo of pictures in that banner

Dear god, do they ever let Hugh have a day off? I'm half-expecting Fox to send him to another premiere during the commercial breaks at the Tony Awards. :oldrazz:
