Incidentally, was there anything worth reporting from that DOFP panel this year?
Is dofp returning to USA theaters for 1 week starting this Friday?
My local theater has 2 showings in the evening.
Like I said, there could have been a bigger lead-in movie for this, like featuring the OT cast after the mid-credits scene of The Wolverine. So many things happened after X3/The Wolverine and even if you're just a casual viewer of the series, you can't help but ask why things are suddenly so different. But right now, there's no need to do that anymore because the Sentinel world in the future is already over.
Absolutely. It's my only gripe with DOFP, we're sort of thrown in and have to expand ourselves how the X-Men fell apart after X3, why Logan went to Japan after the optimistic ending anyway is still up for debate, and why after the cure incident everyone decided genocide was a good idea.
There's a great story there, especially with emotional beats of Charles returning. I wish they'd tell it, but it seems too late. The corporate machine pushed on I guess
Am I the only one that feels that DOFP somewhat served as a "apology note" as well to the fans that have been screwed over the years from films like X3 and Origins?
herolee10 said:2. No Actual Sentinels being present and just getting a big Giant Robot Head.
herolee10 said:4. No "Ice Slides" or decent ice transformations by Bobby.
There are some fans who enjoyed X3 and Origins very much, me being one of them.
That was necessary because the existence of mutants were just recently made public in X1. The humans have no clue of how powerful or dangerous the mutants are until X3 with the whole Alcatraz incident. Jean's actions are what sparked the human government to activate the sentinel program which is why we finally got to see the sentinels in DOFP.
Bobby is still a student at the time. He doesn't have full mastery of his powers to do any ice slides or or turn himself into a walking ice statue.
What's wrong with his characterization?
