I could also somehow imagine Leslie Nielsen in a role.

Apparently the Goddess's origins are a bit confusing. I read on a messageboard that the Goddess may actually be a green clone of Teela, , yet i've read somewhere else that it actually is Teela .

I always thought the green Goddess and Teela were two separate people characters, so for this version , I'd go with the The Goddess as being a separate characters.

Series History

After the success of Donner's Superman 2, The Salkind's and Warner Brothers studios decide to capitalize on the Superman craze sweeping the world by creating a television show based off of the successful film franchise.

The plan is for the show to exploit characters and storyline which haven't been explored in the films yet . This includes expanding on Clark Kent, and his life as Superman, in addition to expanding the supporting cast beyond Lois, Perry, and Jimmy. At the same time, the series presented an opportunity to exploit many of Superman's classic comic book rogues which had not made it to film.

The series would extend through 1986 maintaining high ratings and the high quality of the first two films. At the same time, Superman films would also continued to be made , presenting a Series of Superman films and an ongoing television series concurrently .

In the vain of the Batman 1966, each episode would feature a special guest star in the role of a villain in addition to actors like Hackman and Stamp reprising their roles from the films. However, unlike the 66 series, Superman would be played straight ,as opposed to a campy superhero series. Villains like Brainiac and Metallo entered into the public consciousness due to the popularity of the series.

In addition to the original films creators, The show featured writers, producers, and directors of such 1980s shows as Knight Rider, A-Team, V, and even St. Elsewhere, would lend their talents to keep the show fresh and true to the spirit of Donner's original vision while at the same time expanding the world and incorporating current Superman comic book storylines.

The show would go on to being nominated for several Emmys with Reeve and Kidder both winning Emmys for the final season.
