    Totally.
If she tried to give this Bane orders and boss him around, I don't think it'd turn out too well.
She'd probably be the least sadistic of the whole bunch. :funny:.

Fine pick but why would she outrank Jim, why would Jim no longer be commissioner or would he have retired?

I imagined that this film takes place a few years after TDKR , at which point, Jim would have retired and Essen would be the Commissioner .

Billy Zane as Luthor at some approprate time would've been interesting to see. I always thought he was good in villian-esque roles.

    Awesome cast!
Even if it wasn't Batman, i'd love to see that cast in one film together.

Thanks! I read the script a few weeks back and then caught this podcast—my imagination has just been running wild lol.

I could see WB bringing in Akiva Goldsman to lighten up Miller’s script (much as they did for Andrew Kevin Walker’s Batman vs Superman around the same time). To be honest, the movie could have been pretty neat. Shades of The Batman, for sure, just 20 years earlier.

I wonder if he would have also chosen Kevin Spacey though he could have gone with O'Quinn, not sure if he would prefer star power or previous working relationship.

He definitely was the modern Brando in the '90s and '00s and probably still is today. The closest we have to either a new Brando or Hopkins now is probably Bryan Cranston.

Quinto as Abrams Superman could be offbeat good.

I loved the idea of Keri Russell as Lois. Could have been a great Catwoman too.

Have you read Abrams’ last Flyby script revision? The Oct ‘03 draft? It swaps the CIA agent/Kryptonian sleeper Luthor with a more traditional mogul-type like from STAS. Krypton still doesn’t blow up in this, so the script would still be a decidedly-divisive film but would have been an awesome kickstart for the character.

I never did get around to reading the Flyby scripts, though I vividly remember the stir the leaked earlier version of the story caused online.

I remember the outcry to the sleeper agent Lex .Lol.

I also remember someone, saying that that plot summary with the CIA / Kryptonian Lex that was was already an older version of the story and that it was being changed.
I didn't realize that one of the changes was that Lex was a mogul.
I'll have to look it up and read it .

It would have been interesting to see how the film would have turned out.
From what I understand, Routh and Cavill tried out for Flyby and I think Hartnett was considered for this and for Andrew Kevin Walker's Batman vs Superman script.

I also think Russell would have made a great Lois Lane or Catwoman.
I know she at least auditioned for Superman Returns, though I don't know if she was ever considered for Flyby .

That's great; I've actually been constructing a Bigelow-directed Wonder Woman film using the WWII spec script that WB purchased in 2009. I too have Sigourney Weaver as Hippolyta -- such great casting.

Absolutely love the idea of Blanchett as von Gunther -- the spec script I was referencing does indeed have a generic Nazi adversary intertwined in the film's proceedings but its a stand-in essentially for the Danny Huston character in the 2017 release. I like the idea of a WW film having a cast of women mostly though and Gunther's a great comic book reference.

Who would you have cast as your Etta Candy? I like Octavia Spencer for the role; before The Help, she was still consistently working in the 2000s as a character actress--she would have been great. And could have potentially helped shone a light on adversaries that women, especially non-white women, faced during the War.

    Thanks.:yay:

I actually wasn't too sure if WW2 was the setting for the 2000s version of the film , but I do like that period in WW , Captain America, Indiana Jones, etc.

I also think it would be awesome for a Wonder Woman film to feature mostly women as the villains.

Maybe in the next film Jenkins go can to several of Diana's other female adversaries .

Unfortunately, it may be too late to use The Baroness unless they decide to do another period piece.
But there's still Veronica Cale, Giganta, Artemis, Circe , etc, who they could use.

    Sounds Awesome:D.
I think Biel would have made a good 2000s era Wonder Woman.
I'm trying to remember if she was considered for the part back in the day.
These manips show that she could have pulled off the look.
