Anyone else reading Batman Beyond? #2 was pretty interesting.

My favorite titles continue to be:

Batman
Detective Comics
All-Star Batman
Action Comics
Trinity
Titans
The Flash

Others I'm reading/following and enjoying (for the most part):

Batman Beyond
Nightwing
Justice League
Superman
Aquaman
Cyborg (no idea why but I am)
Deathstroke

Right ow I'm digging the Green Lanterns book. The arc with the Phantom lantern got me hooked. It's the concept more than the writing. Even if I find Humphries' writing excellent.
But having a ring that anyone can possess ? This tackles directly the foundation of the GL's myth.

I'm enjoying Green Lanterns a good deal, but man I have gotten so bored of Hal Jordan & the Green Lanterns. That was the one that really had my eye when it was announced because it was continuing Bunn's fantastic Sinestro series. Something about it has just lost me and I can't put my finger on what it is. I think the moment Sinestro showed up in issue 1 with grey hair looking 135 years old... it just threw me off.

Green Lanterns though... I'm loving the dynamic between the two characters. Good stuff.

I'm following Deathstroke and Suicide Squad; enjoying both of them.

It is a shame the comic threads are not more active IMO.

I'm glad that the rebirth squad seems to be running with the real politik from Ostrander's run.

Well this thread used to be a lot more active when Rebirth had started. Like everything else with hype, it dies down and stabilizes...

Has anyone picked up the New Talents showcase issue? Haven't read it yet. That, and the two annuals from last week (Batman and Superman). Supes going against Swampy should be a great read. :hmr:

Also, the free DC preview mag revealed who the JL/SS team-up will go against:

Evil Max Lord still annoys me. There's just something so generic about his entire bad-guy schtick. They better give him some nuance.

Yeah I read that preview mag the other day, some great stuff in there

On the contrary , man, look at everything that has happened : Sinestro in control of Warworld, fusionning with Parallax, Hal making a big exit and also assaulting Warworld, Guy tortured, and this huge fight between Hal and Sinestro... That was big and good, I felt. I thought that, for once, they were making things big and moving things with the plot. I mean, I have the feeling that Venditti really improved the writing since Rebirth. They go more into what's important, or so I feel. I was chilled reading HJ & the GLC.
Can't express it quite precisely. I just think this is is the kind of book I've been waiting since G.Johns left.

I agree with that !

I'd probably contribute more if I could keep up with all the books I'm trying to read. But with work, and then all the awesome tv shows, I keep getting further behind on comics.

I agree it's probably the best it's been since Johns left, but I think that's also part of the problem with me. I just lost interest in Green Lantern right around the time of Godhead. And like I said before, I don't really know WHY I'm just not getting into Hal Jordan's book. It has everything I should like, but it's always on the back burner of my to-read list.

Maybe a general comic thread should be made, where people can discuss any comic, even very old ones. It would probably be empty a lot of the time though lol.

Superman is currently engaged in fisticuffs with Frankenstein and I love comic books.

Yeah, I wish that people would be more active in here. I'm finding that there are a lot of fans on these sites that never read comics, though. Maybe if there was an area to discuss older runs, maybe that would help. I just recently registered on CBR, though, so I'll be able to talk about stuff there.

The Aquaman book is just amazing! Been loving his story since the new52. Batman has been disappointing me but i'm hoping it picks up for me soon. Superman has been awesome. I think the one I really dislike right now is Justice League. It's just not working for me.

Other than that, i'm looking forward to Teen Titans next week and Supersons in February!

Agree on all counts.

Does anyone know when the whole Dr Manhattan as the catalyst for Rebirth angle might be revisited?

I think this recent "I Am Suicide" arc in Batman has been quite good. The "I Am Gotham" arc was okay, "Monster Men" was dumb, but I feel Tom King is finally being allowed to be Tom King and it's really good.

Wait what the heck is this stuff that I'm hearing about Tom King partially retconning Batman's origins..!? Lots of people seem to be unhappy about it.

It's not a big deal and really doesn't change anything whatsoever.

I haven't read the issue in whole yet, but from a piece I read, it doesn't sound like a retcon as much as an added layer. Sounds fine to me.
