DC Universe - Superman: Man of Tomorrow

I watched the sneak peek for this today it’s very much the beginnings of Clark becoming Superman and borrows heavily from American Alien.
Agreed my only question is given the ending of the last movie are they planning on starting over with Superman coming first this time and going from there.

I don’t think there’s going to be a movie continuity going forward tbh. I think they’ll all be stand alones.

I’m just about the only Superman fan who actually prefers he not have the red spandex on.

Liking the animation style even more here. Distinctive and unique, and not trying the bland and generic anime knockoff style several of the previous ones had. Thumbs up from me. Can’t wait for a trailer to see it all in motion.

Really nice looking and unique animation! My only gripe is that I cannot stand the red trunks look. Just looks so lame! Hopefully he’ll lose them if this is indeed the start of a new universe

Like others have mentioned, the animation style has definitely piqued my interest. At first, I wasn't all that impressed from seeing the first two images that were released. However, seeing some of the recent stills has definitely changed my perception on it. The artwork feels like a combination between the Fleischer cartoons and the Archer animated series.

And the fact that this will be the first animated feature to cover Superman's early years is definitely a treat.

Really didn’t care for American Alien so I’ll be going into this cautious but intrigued.

Dammit, we’re never getting Birthright, are we? :(

Would love Routh to voice a Secret Origin adaptation. He obviously blends with the Donner/Reeves aesthetic that Johns & Frank were going for.

Someone a bit edgier for Birthright (if I’m being picky, which I am).

Really would love to see either of these animated, but maybe WB’s saving them for a live action film ;)

.

Nope, I'm right there with ya. To be honest I was never against the trunks but then MOS came out and while I despised the movie, I couldn't help but absolutely love Tom Wilkinson's suit redesign and ever since that day I can't seem to accept the red undies anymore.
If I had my way the MOS suit would be the official superman suit from now on.

Yeah American Alien was a mixed bag for me, but still kinda fun in parts.
Birthright was amazing when Clark was in Africa but then the whole thing dragged out way too long IMO, should've been 6 issues not 12.
The thing that annoyed me the most about both those stories was how Waid and Landis forgot about CK's intelligence, something that sadly happens very, very often ever since Byrne revamped superman. Now the silver/bronze age was silly but I loved the highly intelligent superman that figured things out and nowadays only Grand Morrison seems to remember.

I'm here with you.
I don't hate the classic, you really can't TBH. But I've always said it was time to move on from it, with various examples of it working that many fans really want to ignore. "Just accept it" is their answer, which is ironic because that's my response for moving on from that piece of wardrobe.

Plus, they don't seem to mind that they're fighting for underwear. If any of you remember the underwear loving family from the Addams Family animated series, I think that's them lol

When I first saw the art for this film, it reminds me of the Curt Swan silver-age. Someone elsewhere said this is like the Ruby-Spears cartoons of the 80's.

Regardless I'm looking forward to this I think things are going well for Superman with this film and the upcoming Superman and Lois TV series.
