DC Universe - Superman: Man of Tomorrow

I know it probably wont but I'd really love for this to start a new cohesive DCAU. With a Batman film next and then Wonder Woman and so on.

I was thinking that too but it will be a hard sell to the masses when they already have Batman Year One and 2 WW Origin stories.

Does anyone know the new 3 movies for next year OR is this and Apokolips War truly the last of DC doing the animation movies?? NO comic con this year so we should have Early news of this already if there are any new DC Animated movies for next year.

As much as I had enjoyed watching the elseworld's take on Superman's origin in "Red Son", I am super (no pun intended) excited to see the canon/faithful version of the story with this film.

Man of Tomorrow looks good! Quite looking forward to seeing it. I haven't yet seen any of the films after Justice League Dark which I shall rectify with @Mandon Knight once the Covid-19 situation is over with.

What I like about the Man of Tomorrow moniker is that it's a reflection of what Superman is about. Like Jor-El said in Man of Steel "they will race behind you...in time you will help them accomplish wonders". In the past when humanity was less evolved they would rely too much on super-powered beings such as the Greek gods and lose their curiousity or sense of adventure. Why strive to learn, to question and to innovate when you have god-like beings running around doing all the heavy lifting for you? Superman's not a replacement for them as he wants humanity to 'catch up' instead by inspiring rather than coddling.

Ok I haven't been this hyped for one of their DTV's in a loooooong time. This looks fantastic (and I'm even almost sold on Darren's voice, lol).

I think including J'onn J'onzz in this origin is an inspired move, just as I thought it was an inspired move when CW made him a part of Supergirl, because I feel like given their backstories and status as literal alien refugees from lost civilizations, he can relate to the Supers on a level which no one else on the planet (or universe?) can.

Agreed, I actually wrote a superman origin story a while back where J'onn played a huge role in Young Clark's life. He disguised himself as Ben Hubbard and made sure to block the memories of anyone (in Smallville or from out of town) who witnessed Clark doing anything extra-ordinary.

Wow that’s a really interesting take, I like it

That sneek peek was awesome. Really loving Darren Criss as the voice of Superman as well as Alaxandra Daddrio as the voice of Lois Lane. I really do think she would have been an interesting choice to play a live action version of the character since she's already a pretty damn good actress IMO.

It is definitely refreshing to see some animation that isnt from the DC-52 movies. I may actually purchase this instead of waiting for it to hit DCU

Daddario is generally awful to me, but she should be adequate in a voice role. It's emoting with her face where she runs into problems, imo. Quinto should be a good Lex.

This looks & sounds great. So excited for a solo Superman story & an original story.

Love love love the title too--hoping this doesn't preclude it from being used for potential live action films. Always thought that, or a variation on it like Superman For Tomorrow have a nice ring to it.

I’m totally feeling this. I enjoyed American Alien, for the most part.

The style, animation, and voices are a breath of fresh air to what they’ve usually done these past few years.

I think that Zachary Quinto is going to be a pretty good Lex.
He was amazing as Sylar and his performance really gave depth to a one dimensional villain like Sylar so I think he will do a great job as Lex Luthor.

I love the new design. It has a soul and a heart, while the previous designs were kinda bland and soulless imo. I appreciate some of those movies but they were colorless in a sense. I mean, look at Batman bad blood and how badly it translates the insanity of Morrison's run.

Man Just release this movie already!!!

When is this coming out?? Around August or November??

The rumor is Late August/September. Probably pushed it back a bit as they seem to be skipping 'ComicCon@Home' and doing the 'DC Fandome' on August 23.
