DCs 52: San Diego Comic con: its NOT what you think it is!

The fact that the number 52 has been popping up a lot should be a massive clue that the number 52 is important.

i thought it was a pun, until i read this

Has no-one else read Rip Hunter's chalkboards?

He has chalkboards? You would think that he would at least use magic markers, seeing as he jumps around in time!

I know, you'd think a master of time would have upgraded to a PDA or something.

I just had a fantastic idea! I wish that everytime I said SHAZAM!, I could turn into Mary Marvel!:up: then SHAZAM once again to go back to guy mode.

How cool would that be???

You ran your little "I crossdress!" thing into ground a long time ago, and it's been as uninteresting as the day you revealed it.

I would never leave the house.

Rawked.

52 is the number of weeks, not days you idiot.

technically 52 weeks is 364 days so having 365days in a year makes the missing DC year TECHNICALLY go into a 53rd week. and with 366 days that makes it go 2 days into that 53rd week and if that year started on a monday then the last day of that year (in the 53rd week) would be a wednesday. which is comic day. therefore they could have had 53 weekly comics in that year...

confusing. but true.placing bets on 53 issues now ;)

Right, but what was the question?

I'm not by any means what you would call "stupid", but could anyone possibly explain how this works, because I just can't get my head around it...

There are 365 days in a normal year.

7 days in a week.

52 weeks in a year.

So how comes 7 x 52 = 364?

What happened to the 365th day??

It moves over into a 53rd week. However, that's usually not counted because it's not a full week. What we're looking at is 52 and 1/7th weeks.

52 has NOTHING to do with how many weeks the series will run!

Ill believe that when I see it. Im pretty sure 52 is the number of weeks in a year, but its also possible the number signifies something else.

The series is running 52 issues, aka 52 weeks. Thats not irrefutable, at all. What your friend didnt explain to you clearly is that the number 52 has another meaning as well within the book. ****, not that hard to follow.
