Good thing they cut that 7m before filming. It was clearly need. :funny:

So happy for the films sucess

I think they also made a FF movie that many people didn't really want. A dark grounded FF wasn't the type of film that had people excited.

Blame still goes to the same general person, with another added in.

Honestly I'm surprised I even liked the film but I did.

Good rebound from Fox this year.
The thing is, Fox has nothing to do with this. They got lucky with talent, just like with Singer the first time around. Fox tries to sabotage this stuff, and they get saved by the likes of Singer, Vaughn and now with Tim Miller.

I never want to hear a reason why Wolverine can't be rated R again.

Still hoping this doesn't go to Fox's head and they give the movie 150 million budget for sequel... Hoping other studios take note and realize not all movies need to cost 150 million+

We live in a world where an R rated Deadpool film outgrosses the likes of Superman at the box office (OW anyway).

Insane. This is a bigger break out for a character than Iron Man.
Not just Superman, but all X-men films and most MCU films as well.

I suppose you are right.

If the rough cut of Wolverine 3 is R, I hope they have the guts to keep it R.

Also, opinions on [BLACKOUT]Keira Knightly as Cable?[/BLACKOUT]

Why shouldn't they, if Tim Miller can use it to their advantage? The Dark Knight cost $150m and it still wasn't your typical 'gotta save the world, city-destruction, alien invasion film.'

If a sequel can be to Deadpool what Terminator 2 was to The Terminator, I'm all for it, as long as they can maintain the same sense of freedom and the R-rating (which I doubt is a problem, considering that Reynolds, Wernick/Reese and Miller just delivered them an R-rated action that opened as big as any PG-13 blockbuster).

My love totally has the range. :atp:

And Ryan Reynolds finally found his Superhero movie. He is beyond perfect in the film.

Apparently Reynolds worked closely with the marketing guys when they were coming up with ideas. He deserves so much credit for this film. Has an actor ever been this invested in a character before?

The budget has to balloon, and it deserves to. The principles involved are going to deservedly get big raises.

Exactly. It's going to open bigger than a lot of characters that are more popular. Which is super duper amazing.
If this does better than Apocalypse, then Fox needs to reconsider that franchise.

And the writers, as well. You remember the Australia Day video, and someone cracking up off camera? Paul Wernick revealed that was him.

I remember when I told my brother it was his voice. He didn't believe me. :funny:

He made this happen. Did he have a producer's credit here? If not, he will for the sequel and the nice check that goes with it.

A bigger budget is essential. But... what makes this film so great is because it's a bit smaller and more "indie" for lack of a better term.

Of course the budget has to balloon. Have you seen the size of Cable's guns?

Yeah, Reynolds has been working as a producer on the movie from day one. That was pretty much the condition for him playing the character.

The indie feel doesn't come from the budget, but the writing. You can have that exact same feel, but with more fully realized action scenes, characters and such. This is the exact reason why they cut what they cut. So the film wouldn't look cheap.

Fox did hire the talent did't they?Like what all the other studios do.

Good. He deserves it.
