Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 3

I think this movie is going to do well, the spirit of the character and source material is obviously respected, casting seems solid and it just feels FUN. People saying this will suck because Fant4stic bombed should keep in mind that this was made, represented and comes off completely opposite of that movie in every way. I'm really looking forward to this movie.

Yeah, people hold grudges, it seems. Can't even understand that they're two completely different movies. I thought The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor and Thor: The Dark World were (some more, some less) pretty underwhelming/overrated, doesn't mean I can't like/love any other of the Marvel Studios titles. People tend to put stuff into boxes, it seems. Fox = Crap.

Seems like thanks to Internet many geeks finally found a way to become the bullies.

While Tim Miller may be first time director no indication of him being incompetent like Josh trank.FF failure laregly came to trank and Simon Kinberg didn't have Bryan Singer
around.the idea deadpool and even Apocalypse would be failures because of FF is stupid.
Michael Jordon was one of stars of FF and didn't hurt his carrer at all.look at creed.Creed
was most successful Rocky related film since 1980's and grossed 107 million domesticly.
If deadpool is good it should do fine.

Taskmaster being with Marvel essentially confirmed by Reynolds. Sounds like everyone on Deadpool really wanted him, but it won't happen unless Marvel and Fox start playing nice.

FOX will just do what they did with "Not a Helicarrier" and introduce Deadpool's awesome new nemesis "Drill Sargeant".

I think there's a limit to how much of that we'll see, as overdoing those "sorta kinda" versions risks pushing Marvel into creating new Inhumans with retractable claws, laser eyes, and weather manipulation powers, alongside the wholly original cosmic hero The Chrome Snowboarder.

Nothing particularly new if you've been following the Fox train the last few years, but Ryan reiterates once again that Fox has been having internal discussions about finally introducing Cable to the big screen and seems like it'll happen in the sequel to Deadpool.

I do hope that X-Force is in the pipeline for the near future. It'd be cool to have them all come at around the time New Mutants is out in 2018.

Sounds like somebody's getting lucky this Valentine's Day.

Is Bob in? If so, he'd have the amusing distinction of sorta kinda being in X-verse and MCU. AoS featured a "S.H.I.E.L.D. agent" (Hydra) that dies. After being killed, it was noted (by Skye iirc) that his name is Bob. Obviously Bob is a generic name, but you could practically see the writers winking at the fans that knew Marvel well enough to get it.

We are getting Bob, though.

Rumor is this version is a sales rep for the Sunshine Baking Company, peddling a now discontinued cream filled cookie sandwich similar to Oreos.

Agent of Hydrox!

Reynolds on the rating, he thinks X-Force can be R....

I think it has to [open the door for more R-rated superhero movies], I hope so," Reynolds said. "There are a lot of superhero movies out there on the market. It’s a genre unto itself. I personally would like to see more rated R ones. I just think it’s time. We’ll see if this holds. Hollywood shamefully copycats every movie that works – so if this does work, you’ll probably see more rated R films!"

Of course, solo movies are a great way to bring that to a reality, and Reynolds said the next Deadpool film might just be a team-up with comic book pal Cable, but team films are where the big money tends to be.

"I don’t think you’re going to see a rated R Avengers movie, but there’s room for other ones. I think there’s room for a rated R X-Force movie!" he said emphatically.

They've pretty much ran X Gon’ Give It To Ya and Shoop into the ground. lol

X Gon' Give Me A Migraine If I Hear It One More Time Today.

Having an R-rated X-Force would be cool. But I don't think we'll get it nor would it be totally necessary?

Regarding Wolverine it would be nice to finally see him actually put those claws to massive use.

Really hoping Jackman will still show up in some form and not retire fully now that Deadpool is around and the possibility of X-Force is around the corner.

If this film makes alot of cash, then Fox are gonna give Reynolds and crew X-Force. And if Reynolds is producer like he is on this and he wants an R rating... then I don't see the studio stopping them after it's proven they know how to make it all work.

Otherwise it's a lock for PG-13 imo.

I feel they're bringing Shoop back. Seriously, when's the last time you heard a Salt N' Pepa song that wasn't Push It?

I disagree with X-Force being R-rated unless it's Deadpool 2: X-Force or something like that. But it feels less of a action-comedy than just a pure action movie.

Well X-Force by Yost/Kyle and Remenders UXF are macabre blood baths. Those comics were never intended for younger audiences to be honest. Lots of horrific torture and gore there in graphic detail without the comedy tone of Deadpool books. If it's Lifeld's X-Force like Wadlow was doing then yeah not necessary.

I don't see Fox going the R X-Force route at all unless it's Reynolds and this crew that want it.

Oh, I have no doubt it could have the requisite violence. I just think the comedy aspect of Deadpool makes it more palatable as an R-Rated film than X-Force would.

Gotcha, I can see that pov.

Definitely curious to how this all plays out if Deadpool's a success.

I'm seeing tickets are now up for some of the theaters near me in case anyone's looking to get theirs early.
