Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 3

That thing in the tv spots really looks like a helicarrier of some kind

I must point out, a lot of people at my Uni are very interested in this movie despite not reading the comic books.

There's a group of people I know who generally don't go to the cinema and just pirate movies when they come out on DVD. They'll be seeing this on the opening day.

Yeah, I think this movie definitely appeals to people who enjoyed raunchy R-rated comedies such as Pineapple Express, This is the End, The Hangover, the Jump Street movies, as well as superhero movies.

Fox should do a STV DVD Sequel of sorts with what Deadpool does after a movie of Deadpool just doing random Deadpool things

I'd be happy if Reynolds just got to do those bizarre videos in character for the rest of forever.

As for Feraci? Geezer is a nob head. It's pretty funny that he is the worst writer on his own website. I remember he banned me because I countered his criticism of Kingsman's anal sex joke at the end.

Seriously, that guy is a pansy.

Yea he praised Kingsman... then went into this rant about how that joke ruined the ending. I basically said the whole film is a crude and crass riff on Bond films, with the joke at the end taking the whole "oh James" endings from the Roger Moore era and dialing it up to 11. He then insulted me and banned me.

He's like one of those creepy guys that pretends he cares about a womans feelings and rights just to get in their pants.

Campea loved it.

DEADPOOL is flat out the most entertaining movie I've seen in a LONG time. ****ing BRILLIANT!

Ok I'll say it... I had more fun watching #DEADPOOL than I did watching. #TheForceAwakens And I LOVED TFA. Take that as you will.

Some twitter number comparisons.

So in its last week of eligibility for my Twitter Futures column (as it opens next Friday), Deadpool did what it has done so well in recent times: obliterate the competition. Punching in with 326,090 tweets, it easily bested fellow Valentine's Day opener Zoolander 2 which had 84,133. How does Deadpool's numbers stack up with other recent comic adaptations you might be wondering? Guardians Of The Galaxy had 153,414 tweets the same period before its release, Avengers: Age Of Ultron had 325,348 while Kingsman: The Secret Service had just 26,919. What is clear at this point is that the marketing for the film has done an excellent job at leveraging the built-in fanbase of Deadpool and used some very creative Deadpool-esque ways of generating buzz. Those clever tactics have been devoured readily by social media and plays perfectly into some of its core constructs. Namely, offering a quick laugh to generate interest. No other film in recent history, or really ever, has so effectively used memes and mashups to its advantage.

Something tells me a lot of people's swear and curse word count are going up after seeing this. Its hard to believe that the marketing will start dying down this time next week.

Is it too late to delay this film? Don't want the marketing to end

Those are some promising words from Campea.

C'mon man, some people (not me) have waited a long time to see this film.

Sequel push and DVD release will happen fast if this is a success. I don't think the marketing will fully stop. Just slow down.

You're all forgetting the home video release in Summer. I'm sure they'll cook up something funny to market that (and I can't even imagine what they could to for the menus and extras).

Gotta have a Deadpool audio commentary :awesome:

I want a full deadpool voice over for the movie, that would be great.

Regardless of if it was pg-13 or not the immaturity would have stood. Comes with the character even when he's pg.

Hence why the movie should have been PG-13.

You don't need to keep baiting others on this board man. You already did this dance. You wanted it PG-13, cool. Reynolds has fought his ass off to get this movie made for 11 years, he wanted it R and we wouldn't have a film at all if it wasn't for him.

I give major props and respect to Ryan Reynolds for fighting for this movie to get made. However, none of that means that him pushing for the movie to be R rated was the right creative and business decision.

We'll see 'bout that when the movie comes out, dude! ;)

Keep R rated superheroes R rated. You don't have to twist every superhero to appeal to everyone.

Yeah, lets wait until release before any conclusions are made on what should have or could have been.

Blade X should relax and watch this:

I watched it when it first aired. I didn't like DP's voice in that episode. They should have got the guy who did his voice in the HULK VS WOLVERINE movie (Nolan North).

IMO, one of the best things about this movie is the marketing. Which makes me wonder if the marketing is better then the actual movie. It also makes me wonder if DP works better as either a "skit",supporting, guest star,or "commercial sales pitch" character rather then a star of his own live action movie or TV series. DP could be more appealing in smaller frequent dosses rather then less frequent larger doses. I can see DP being the sales pitch character for an insurance company.
