:up::up:

Also good to hear Reynolds is staying in control of the character as far as what X films Deadpool goes in.

Yeah! That's GREAT to hear for me, as I tend to be quite wary of crossovers, and definitely agree that it would need to be done in a very organic and specific way.

Definitely, it's been great to hear X-Force constantly brought up. That's where Deadpool needs to be. Reynolds knows whats up.

If any other crossover happens, Reynolds sounds like it will be for the right reasons and not just to throw him into the X-Men world even more.

Likely that we'll get more obscure and lesser known characters in the X-Universe and that is good with me.

Cable and Domino should be right around the corner now.

But hopefully X-23, Boom Boom, Rahne and Fantomex aren't that far off either.

Guesses on the sequel name? I want Deadpool 2: Electric Boogaloo. I expect Cable & Deadpool.

Deadpool Beats The $#!+ Out Of Taskmaster In Latveria While Making Fun Of Spider-Man would also be acceptable.

Yeah, and just from the way he talks about X-Force, it sounds like Fox is planning to hand that one over to his team. And the sequel being Cable & Deadpool is a strong possibilty.

Well, if Ryan says that X-Force is the focus then bring 'em all. :funny:

Maybe Tim Miller should be their main man for the foreseeable future instead of Singer. New Mutants arguably fits in with the stuff he's (potentially) doing, too. Some of the "X-Force" stuff started there. Maybe that could be produced by the Deadpool crew rather than the Apocalypse crew. (keep in mind I'm talking Miller as a producer, I know it has a director).

God, Ryan, is there anything you do that won't make us love you even more!

Glad to hear Paul and Rhett will be back. Those guys are just as important as Ryan and Tim are to the entire project. X-Force and Cable are the ways to go for this area of the X-Men universe and I'm glad that Ryan just has a vice grip on Deadpool now. He's waited too long for this and he will not let it go.

On the flip side, I'm also thrilled to see how Ryan and co. will adapt certain characters to the silver screen. They've done Colossus justice it seems and revamped NTW into an awesome character, so hopefully they bring Cable, Domino etc. to life the way they've brought Wade Wilson to life.

Also, if Singer is gonna stay on, let him stick with his main group in the past. Just make sure they don't overlap in the mutants they use and they'll be fine. Ideally, Tim and Ryan would be working closely with Josh Boone and making sure they get New Mutants on track too. Boone's The Stand project fell through recently, so I'm really curious if he goes straight into New Mutants now, as that gap before 2018 looks to be up in the air I think. (Or if he has another project OR they have contingency plans now that Deadpool has been a success)

I think they will. Ryan Reynolds has talked about wanting to bring in X-Men characters which haven't been done justice, and Tim Miller is a huge comic book geek ("$400 a month habit"), so...

Not sure if true but just read something I wish I didn't. Watch out for something that's starting to trend if you don't wanna be spoiled.

Thanks. Considering that the movie's coming out on February 18th here, I think the time has come salute you fellow comrades. I'll be back on Thursday next week, when I'll be able to talk about the actual movie.

I hope Fox are not tempted by a 2018 summer release date. Too much competition. The Prince of Wakanda has its Feb release date in 2018 so it has to find another month I guess.

Why? There is always gonna be competition. Marvel films should stay at least 2.5 to 3 weeks away from each other regardless, but things are not gonna slow down.

They should grab an August 2018 date.

Ryan has said he'd love a Wolverine/Deapool team-up or versus.

Seeing as how Jackman is retiring after Wolv3rine what do think the chances are of that movie is being re-written to include Deadpool in some way given the amazing feedback this has gotten overall?

I hope the New Mutants costumes are similar to Negasonics

Great news IF the movie doesn't flop.

After all Green Lantern 2 and Fantastic Four sequel were greenlit then the "prequels" didn't earn enough to actually be given sequels
The good news here is that Deadpool probably has a fraction of the budget of those films. I mean Green Lantern cost $200 million plus another $100 million for P&A. Fantastic Four cost like $120-$150 million. Deadpool cost like $60 million.

Good point.

Sounds like Olivia Munn was up for Angel Dust or Vanessa early on

We were casting Deadpool. I had met with Olivia Munn for a character in Deadpool that ultimately wasn’t the right character for her, but we were like ‘We’ve gotta keep in touch, she has to do something in the X-Men world.’

Deadpool's cost is 58 million per Deadline. The movie is currently tracking at 60-65 million 4 day "weekend", which is, as Deadline said it, Fox's conservative estimate, non-Fox insiders feel this could go much higher than that. Wouldn't be surprised if this hit closer to 80.

About Green Lantern 2 & Fantastic Four, they were never "greenlit" per se, they just had a release date because that's the kind of thing you do nowadays. No doubt Fox has seen the incredible social media activity and buzz about the character, the incredible reaction and tracking, and just pulled the trigger.

Using the word "greenlit" here explicitly shows that it's happening, it's not some fantasy that Fox has, or them being arrogant before seeing what the movie actually does like it happened with FF.

Trust me, audiences will eat this up, this is a massive crowdpleaser, I'm actually surprised it's not dividing more, I thought critics were going to be like 50 to 60 % because of the nature of Deadpool's character, not everyone likes that kind of humor, and yet it's connecting.

Also, it opened in Hong Kong to a massive number considering it's NC-17 rating over there, 8th best OD of all time, above The Avengers (with less shows considering the rating).

4 and a half hours left until i watch Deadpool. :hmr:

What I've found funny is this section has had significantly less post amounts to other CBMs this year which suggests to me is because there's not much to complain and nitpick about :funny:

Seems to be the same with reception, not much to dislike.

What I've found interesting and what I think is a draw for people is that while many superhero movies have humour they are handled very seriously in business terms whereas this has been handled so lightly.

It's come across not as a movie made to make money and start a franchise to bring in the bucks but as a passion project by individuals out to have a great time and deliver a fun experience without the baggage of executives and huge profit and pleasing demographics and being politically correct and so forth.

Also, it opened in Hong Kong to a massive number considering it's NC-17 rating over there, 8th best OD of all time, above The Avengers (with less shows considering the rating).

That's quite an achievement
