Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 4

 Agreed. I am starting to take the reviews less seriously more and more everyday.

Got the exclusive Best Buy Steelbook last night. Loving the special features. Gag reel alone is worth the price.

Went to Best Buy after work last night, and they were sold out of the steelbook. I even went to two other Best Buy stores, none of them had it, I was so pissed off.

I ended up settling on the Target exclusive. The red case and the post cards are cool, but still not as bad ass as the steelbook.

I find Deadpools voice annoying but that's kinda the point lol. He should be annoying but you should still root for the guy.

I pre-ordered mine. These exclusives go really fast. I didn't see any other steelbooks in the store I went to, although they had plenty of Force awakens steelbooks, so maybe they'll restock if those aren't leftovers.

Saw the deleted scenes today. Didn't think the Guadalajara scenes were with Wade/Vanessa and kept thinking they were part of Deadpool's Francis-hunting montage. I get the issues with it being too dark now. It is very dark - almost a completely different film. The film juggled a lot of tones well, but this one may have been overkill. Ryan and co. conveyed the direness of Wade's situation pretty well without it.

Still, it was some great acting from Ryan. As his world expands, it'd be cool to see a bit more dramatic moments from the films.

This right here was the exact reason why I didn't preorder one. I thought there would be plenty basing off the amount of Force Awakens steelbooks they still had leading up to Deadpool's release.

I thought about waiting to see if they would restock them later, but I really didn't wanna wait for the movie any more. That and also because I never saw them restock the Magnocase for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I just came here to say I love this movie. Still my fave cbm of 2016.

The pacing is great, the characters are fun, the humor is good, the action is exciting, the romance is actually good, and this movie does justice to Deadpool.

Funny Dopinder... I'd pay to see that.

So I'm having a dream this morning, and it's Ryan Renolds and his "wife" Heidi Klum in my dream. We are watching a live show at the theater, and Heidi Klum starts to make out with me. We go back to Renold's place and Renolds is trying to talk me and his wife out of sleeping with each other. Heidi agrees she won't sleep with me, and the best part this, Ryan Renolds still has a beer with me and we play billiards. Just wanted to jot that down before I forget. Need more dreams like that.

I just wonder what he would have done to me if he was Deadpool instead.

Guys, I might be on a late train here, but:

For the Blu-Ray, is there a collectors edition?

So far I'm aware of:

- Regular Blu-Ray
- 4k Blu-Ray
- BestBuy steelbook Exclusive
- Target Exclusive with post cards

Are there any other versions? Which one would you recommend? As a collector, I'm interested on the post cards but also the steelbook is nice...

Thank you,

Lucky you. The wife & I couldn't find a single copy in the Bay Area. Completely sold out everywhere!

I'm worried about deadpool 2 now, cus fox exec and hackberg will be more involved now

Not worried at all. The creative team knows what it's doing. And Fox and Kinberg did support them, after all.

i don't trust fox exec and simon hackberg. they just didn't get what make deadpool succesful. even they got the wrong message on why deadpool turn out a success. basically they disown deadpool and not expecting it will making money.
i doubt even with the same creative team they will be given the same creativity freedom now.
XMA is set to underperform and now fox exec and hackberg will set their eyes on milking deadpool

Likewise. My biggest fear for Deadpool 2 is that the creatives who actually made Deadpool will get marginalized.

"Hackberg" was the one who gave the last push for Deadpool to get made. And the Fox execs, once they saw and early cut of the film, supported the creative team by giving them more money for reshoots and the marketing campaign.

You really think Reynolds and his team made the movie alone and Fox didn't say anything. You know, if Fox wanted to f*** , nothing would stop them (small budget or not).
Look Hitman 2015, 35 million budget, bad movie.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick

It was up to Fox to look at it and decided ‘should we make this?’ and thankfully - thankfully only in retrospect - they didn’t. It allowed us to circle back with the support of Simon Kinberg a couple of years later and convince them that R was always the best way to go.

I know there have been other R rated superhero movies but not like Marvel, Deadpool, Fox. So there was this space and Simon Kinberg really pushed us towards that and gave the studio the assurance that this would work.

It’s funny, greenlight decisions come down to people, people make the decision, obviously. But maybe not so obviously in the sense that you need that right combination of people, and it wasn’t until we had Jim Gianopulos, Stacy Snider, Emma Watts, and Simon Kinberg, that group of people, to come together and say, ‘Ok, now’s the time.” And we’re really lucky in that retrospect that I didn’t get made in a previous iteration because it might have been PG-13, or an executive who was doing it maybe because they thought the market was didn’t really get it. I think we finally got the right combination of people at Fox who just supported us 1000%, and I think because of that we’re all gonna get the Deadpool we always hoped for.

WERNICK: The ultimate angel on our shoulder really was Simon Kinberg. When he came aboard it really did kind of move what was delayed to blazing superhero speed and “let’s make this movie”.

REESE: Yeah. I mean, I think Simon in a way was probably most responsible, just his understanding of comics, his understanding of this character
.

You read right, they praise Simon Kingerg, the devil, the hack, the bad, the awful.
It 's easy to bash Fox/Kinberg because when you don't like someone, it is difficult to say he mades some great things. Much better to say it was a accident ...
