Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 4

Reynolds tweeted something that this site suspects was a jab at Miller, he eventually took it down

Read it how you want.

You know this is about Reynolds and Miller disagreeing and not Miller/Reynolds vs Fox right?

I am aware of this yes, But no matter what success they have had there will always be some behind the scenes negotiating to get creative visions on screen.

No that was just a fan fantasy that they were gonna get full on creative control over this vehicle but thats never how it works in these situations.

The studio has nothing to do with this. In fact, Tim Miller is now working on another Fox project (not Marvel related).

Miller could direct the next xmen film. Fox have probably tied him down like they kinda did with Matthew Vaughn to direct or produce mostly Fox films.

Fox has already put him on 'Influx,' a big screen adaptation of Daniel Suarez's novel.

BTW, I've opened a Deadpool 2 News and Discussion thread.

I hope he gets a go at X-Men after Influx. I want him to do to the X-Men, what he did to Colossus.

I don't know. I kinda think that ship has sailed. He was really into Deadpool, and was planning to do X-Force, as well.

I doubt he'll get attached to any other X-Men project, as much as I doubt that Matthew Vaughn will direct another one.

After Deadpool's success, he probably has carte blanche at Fox so if he wanted to do the flagship X-Men, he probably could. Would be cool if Fox asked him to do it though. Didn't think of Tim doing other X-properties. But like Vaughn he probably does have other interests.

If Miller wasn't given carte blacnche on his OWN personal franchise (with Deadpool), in what backwards universe does Fox give him the keys to the X-Men franchise? :funny:

(After Deadpool's success, they pretty much thanked Miller but pushing him out and telling him, "Thanks but we'll take it from here...")

Also, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg run the main series. Regardless of director/writer, their the producers. They have all the power. That's not going to change anytime soon regardless of how much people whine about it.

Haha, I meant that he could pursue things freely at Fox within reason. But yes, he wasn't given carte Blanche.

Miller's a true talent. I have no doubt he'll land another big project, sooner or later.

He's already landed another big project at Fox. The science-fiction pic 'Influx,' based on a novel by Daniel Suarez.

El Mayimbe and Matt Donnelly from the Wrap are saying Tim Miller wanted to bigger for the sequel. This included a budget approximately 3 times as big as the first one. Reynolds wanted a more low budget "scrappy" feel to Deadpool 2.

I will point out though Colliderfrosty is calling BS on this rumor

We've been discussing that in the 'Deadpool 2' section. :yay:

Just throwing a name.

Martin McDonagh

In Bruges is a goddamn fantastic film. Deadpool would love that film, mayne.

Junkie XL posted that he's not scoring the sequel since Tim left

Never in a million years. If you've heard how McDonagh disparrages studio interference on his own films and suits trying to tell him what to do in general, he's very open about how much he hates it. He goes out of his way to get funding from multiple sources just to lessen the power they have over him. He's one director I don't ever see signing on to a franchise.

Miller to direct the next present day X-Men team film pls! I need a bad ass Rogue in film!

I loved his Mad Max score and I'm assuming he had a good deal to do with the WW theme and the Batman suite in BVS, both of which I loved, but yeah, his score for Deadpool really made no impact on me.

The bell-ringing during the opening fight on the bridge as Deadpool was counting off his bullets was pretty cool. Sounded a lot like the intro bells on "Just beat it". Beyond that, yeah, could've been better.

Besides Maximum Effort and Twelve Bullets, the score wasn't all that memorable, and a composer change was to be expected with the director change. I do hope that Maximum Effort is kept though as like, Deadpool's theme or whatever. Or they use similar instrumentation, as I liked Holkenborg's explanation reason for the synth heavy score as it represents the period Deadpool is from.
