I hated that the video game was just all zany and completely crazy. There was no heart or anything. Not a fraction of character development. Just Deadpool doing crazy Deadpool things. But without a bit of tragicness sprinkled throughout, the character just becomes insufferable and annoying.

But I trust Reynolds and the team that they will give us a balanced Deadpool experience.

I sincerely hope they get the balance between humour and tragedy right. I'd hate it if the movie was just a funny shoot 'em up pic. There needs to be the right amount of heart. Deadpool's not a cartoon character, after all. He's very three-dimensional, actually.

i hope so too, i havent seen the screenplay yet (*hint* for those who has it ) but if theyre trying to make Fox happy so they can get a much bigger sequel afterwards then maybe they might shoot for the more comedic-actiony aspect of Deadpool on this first movie. after all, most of the movie going public doesnt know who Deadpool is (outside of Wolverine... and really do they even remember him there?) the general public has to LOVE the Deadpool franchise and DEMAND more of it. lets take a page from GOTG-- the biggest pull to it was that it was funny and had a great soundtrack, sprinkled with some tug-at-the-heartstring moments. that can totally work for Deadpool with a dash of bloody action for some kick yeah?

I recall reading an article years back where RR had said that he'd ONLY do the movie if they made Wade more comic-book accurate than has in Origins.

Most people on here think Ed Skrein will be Ajax in line with the old script, and a lot of the news sites have predicted Garrison Kane.

The leaked script from forever ago had Ajax as the villain but he was partnered with other characters like Wyre and Garrison Kane.

And speaking of comics, what would yall recommend? I've read Simone's run, Cable & Deadpool, and I *think* the 2nd DP miniseries from the 90's. Are there any good collections besides thats tuff?
