I really don't care about the rating as long as its good. Having a sweary gore-fest doesn't instantly make the film good

I just want them to be able to bring their vision to the screen. And if that means having an R rating, then that's what it should be. Simply because it might be R, doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a sweary gore-fest. As far as I understand, just one f**k too many can already turn a PG-13 Movie into an R Movie. Heck, showing drug abuse can give you an R rating as I am reading here.

I certainly don't want to get another Punisher Movie, where it pushed gore to the extreme just because they could. But I also don't want it to be like the Dark Knight, where Joker kills all his accomplices and shoots the banker, and you literally don't see a drop of blood. All you see is dust flying whenever bullets hit the body.

Even the comics can be really bloody at times. And that's the regular series, not even Deadpool Max. And characters swear. Of course the only reason you don't see tons of f**ks or sh**s, is because of the comic censorship. But everyone knows what the characters are saying.

I'm thinking it could be an April Fool's Day joke (green blood?) but PG-13 wouldn't be too bad. You'd just have to cut some of the f-bombs and some of the unnecessarily dark jokes.

I think they could have fun with pg-13...something gets *bleeped* and he goes off on what was that? and then a *bleeped* curse filled rant...that on the R rated directors cut they leave the rant in...or basically the same thing visually with a blacked out or pixelated area

The costume is gorgeous in motion. Damn, I can't wait for this film. I hope this type of 4th wall breaking is used for when promotion gets into high gear. That'll at least turn people's heads and pique curiosity. They could really have an amazing marketing campaign for this film.
