I'll probably be in the minority here, but one of my favourite CBMs in the last few years was Punisher War Zone. It was more faithful to the character than any X-Men or Spider-Man movie to date. It was unapologetic, ultra-violent action from the get-go. I loved it.

Some of the things people hated about it, apparently.

But I agree with you. Great film.

That video was gold.

Batman v Superman
Captain America: Civil War
Deadpool
Doctor Strange
Suicide Squad
X-Men: Apocalypse

Yes please.

There's a Gambit movie at the end of 2016 as well.

The only things missing from the Tom Jane Punisher were the slicked back hair and the violence. After watching them back-to-back I prefer War Zone. It seems to me like some fans don't know what they want, other than Ryan Reynolds that is. I'm happy that he gets to make the movie both he and the director want to, I'm fully on board and can't wait.

Cool first shot of Weasel
Really cool. Do we reckon they've started filming without characters like Blind Al, Colossus etc and will film their scenes later? Or do we think they've cast them and haven't let the cat out the bag yet?

Should be hearing about Colossus in the next two weeks when they shoot the viaduct if he's still in. I would imagine most the roles are cast at this point, just not announced.

I've never been a fan of fourth wall breaking, it seems pretty inconsistant if it's set in the X-Men Cinematic Universe (which it probably is).

Great to hear about the R rating.

Not if his solo movie flops. With the exception of the first 2 BLADE movies, no R rated SUPERHERO movie has done well at the box office. It seems to me that most (NOT ALL) of the people who are pushing for (and rejoicing about) this movie being R rated are the same selfish fans who expect superhero characters that were created for a wide all ages audience (and which most of them first discovered as young kids) to now be aimed SOLELY at them as adults. A PG-13 DP movie could have a broader appeal and reach a much wider audience then an R rated DP movie. Now don't get me wrong, I think that an R rated DP movie could (and will) do good at the box office, but I think that a PG-13 DP movie would do even better.

Didn't expect anyone to take the Slater position. I think the video has the proper response to the Slater position.

Based on Kingsman, which while not a superhero movie in the strictest of interpretations, is still the type of tone I think Deadpool is going for. And it did pretty well at the box office. Records, no. But it did take in well over triple it's budget. And considering that the budget isn't high, it should be very easy for Deadpool to have success.

And Weasel looks great.

I'm more excited that they're utilizing his "drawings" than the R-rating. But cool.

Holy crap, the suit looks awesome in motion.

Damn, I hate all the fun-ruining of the last 2-3 pages. We've been waiting years for this film and now we're not only getting it, but everything seems to be really lining up nicely. We have almost nothing to complain about right now so it's puzzling seeing some people SEARCH for something to nitpick.

You can't please everyone, but there are a select few that are more than happy to hang around forums and spend countless hours trying to wind others up etc.

Just ignore them. 'Tis what I do. :yay:

Couldn't agree more. ;)

In lovelier news, the rating video now has 1,412,507 views!

Just type 'Deadpool' in YouTube. Lol. It's everywhere!

Pretty brilliant marketing strategy.

There's one on Extra's youtube channel as well with about half a mil.

So my younger brother doesn't really read comics, but is a fan of Deadpool (he knows him through a handful of comics he's read of mine, cartoons, etc) and is excited about this movie. I'd like to get him a few Deadpool comics to wet his appetite for the film even more than it already is. Are there any collections/TPBs of Deadpool that anyone would suggest? He's 24, so there isn't any concern about age-appropriate stories, lol.

Deadpool Classics. They feature the Joe Kelly run. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe is pretty good. The newest series has some great stuff.

people are actually b****ing about the R rating?

get over yourselves!

I noticed that one is actually bleeped.

Definitely Deadpool classics like Endless mentioned. Some other good ones are:
-Suicide Kings
-Cable Deadpol volumes
-Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender
-The Good, The Bad and The Ugly by Duggan

If he likes the more zany Deadpool stuff then Wolverine: Origins vol 5 by Daniel Way is a good choice. Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe is really popular.

I noticed that one is actually bleeped.
Weird, wonder if that's why it went to two channels.

Deadpool Classics are a must read, IMO. There's an omnibus out, but might be too pricey depending on what your budget is.
