Pros
1. Ryan Reynolds (sorta a given, but hey!)
2. Greater movie going public don't get confused
3. We have already established he is unkillable
4. Experiment gone bad by Weapon X programme already established
5. Entire past history prior to Weapon X open for this film
6. Potential for cameos from entire existing X-men film cast (anybody really, Wolverine, Beast, Angel, Magneto, Sabertooth etc)
1. He is attached already, so its irrelevant to what continuity they choose (he did say he want to get as close as possible to the comics).
2. Don't get confused by what? Seeing the "bad guy" who
apparently died in that Wolverine movie get his own flick? You forget that the "greater movie going public" didn't really stick around after the credits. Even if they did, most of them didn't get the Barakapool ending.
3. Easy to establish in a new movie and they can even use it as part of the actual plot.
4. Granted. But was he really a failed experiment? More like a rushed one. Nobody said anything about him failing the procedure he was subjected to. The procedure just wasn't complete yet. Also, if you call that establishing a character, you sure get pleased with so little.
He had like 4 or 5 lines of dialogue dedicated to developing a
very small background for the character.
5. Entire past history is open for
ALL possible continuities you can come up with because there wasn't any history at all for Wade in Origins. You can come up with whatever you want for this movie, be it in continuity with the previous or not, it won't matter because there's no connecting point.
6. Please no. The last thing we need on the Deadpool flick is for it to turn into another cameo fest movie like Wolverine did.
