I have one for that, too.

Found another one:

I like it except the bit about "the hero" (Deadpool isn't really a "hero" in the traditional sense) and that it's all Wade without his mask, but there aren't really many ways to work around that now.

HOLY ****! That was the best fan trailer I've ever seen in my life! Spot on Deadpool, spot on music! PERFECT!!!!!!!

They mixed the the 2004 Punisher movie with the 2008 movie? Oh no they di'int!

That trailer was surprisingly well done.

That guy's got editting skills.

Anyway, to get the discussion on this rollin' what do you think the outline of the plot should be?

I'm thinking of a mix between 97' Annual - Death (his origin and Ajax) and then fast forward to a Circle Chaseish plot.

Smokin' Aces (the first one) has a plot that would fit Deadpool and friends like a glove, methinks.

What are folks' opinions on how much of the spin-off will be faithful to that which was seen in the Wolverine?

I get the impression that most of the DP fans in here would rather that the stuff that happened in Wolverine be forgotten about and the franchise begins anew. Kinda like, a reboot.

That would appease the fans but wouldn't it confuse the greater movie going public? A lot might depend to what extent First Class serves as a reboot or a prequel I suppose. If First Class is a reboot, then in theory you could attach the new Deadpool fim into that timeline. Thoughts?

Anyways I've written up a list of Pros and Cons to being faithful to the Wolverine Wade.

Pros
1. Ryan Reynolds (sorta a given, but hey!)
2. Greater movie going public don't get confused
3. We have already established he is unkillable
4. Experiment gone bad by Weapon X programme already established
5. Entire past history prior to Weapon X open for this film
6. Potential for cameos from entire existing X-men film cast (anybody really, Wolverine, Beast, Angel, Magneto, Sabertooth etc)

Cons
1. Nobody likes Baraka-pool design
2. Will have to lose most of the Weapon XI powers somehow which will seem contrived
3. Any flashbacks will have to be faithful to that what has already been established (era of Weapon X, ex-gf wedding)

You haven't been keeping up with the Deadpool movie news have you...? It's going to be a reboot.

I just scanned this from my copy of Dark Reign, because I thought it was epic. :woot:

1. He is attached already, so its irrelevant to what continuity they choose (he did say he want to get as close as possible to the comics).

2. Don't get confused by what? Seeing the "bad guy" who apparently died in that Wolverine movie get his own flick? You forget that the "greater movie going public" didn't really stick around after the credits. Even if they did, most of them didn't get the Barakapool ending.

3. Easy to establish in a new movie and they can even use it as part of the actual plot.

4. Granted. But was he really a failed experiment? More like a rushed one. Nobody said anything about him failing the procedure he was subjected to. The procedure just wasn't complete yet. Also, if you call that establishing a character, you sure get pleased with so little.
He had like 4 or 5 lines of dialogue dedicated to developing a very small background for the character.

5. Entire past history is open for ALL possible continuities you can come up with because there wasn't any history at all for Wade in Origins. You can come up with whatever you want for this movie, be it in continuity with the previous or not, it won't matter because there's no connecting point.

6. Please no. The last thing we need on the Deadpool flick is for it to turn into another cameo fest movie like Wolverine did.

Looking at this pic, I cannot think of another way to do Deadpool on film other than this look:
