Sounds like very good weekday figures overall then. That gives me more confidence of a (relatively) solid 2nd weekend hold. It's going to be a big number after the weekend going into the second week, and will be interesting to see how much the weekdays then drop.

Wow these estimates keep going up and up it seems, $100m+ now even a possibility, even if its just below that its still going to be an insane 2nd week hold and bodes well for the long haul.

Not surprised though as looking at the bookings today near me here in the UK most cinemas 90% full already for showings and in the biggest screens available still, it seems the marketing and timing of this release was spot on.

The magic $1B is getting very real now.

53% drop on the huge weekend it opened up with is incredible and shows WOM has been really strong compared to even other comic book movies that opened at similar sizes. For an R rated movie to even be in the conversation for highest grossing of the year is insane. Whatever happens from now on though it seems like its going to be holding a lot of records for R rated films for quite some time it seems. I hope Deadpools next suit is made out of all gold next time to show the rise and rise of his stardom.

Its getting close in the 2nd weekend to what the opening would have been as a decent weekend. Mad how it keeps defying the predictions and not by small margins. Its a monster the keeps growing in power.

It’s all just a joke for an R-rated film. Yet another film where I would have got any predictions totally wrong. As you said in a previous post, the WOM is looking a lot stronger than expected and a bunch of people who would have stayed on the bench and waited till streaming are now likely to eventually make an effort and go to see it.
